It is mind-boggling to think of how much money top flight players take home now. Even a bang average PL will be on £30-£50k a week. Imagine walking into pretty much any shop and never even letting the price of anything you pick up come into consideration.

Ronaldo could pay off my mortgage with a day and halfs work.

With their years in the Championship and 27,500 seater stadium it's tough to see how we could ever match them and spend that kind of money on one player.

I know right? Either we are being horribly mismanaged, they are running up huge debts, or the fat man isn't being honest about it....

I think basically every club are running up huge debts. Or at least any keeping pace with this sellers market.

Yeah, relegation release clause. I don't like him but he's a good player on his day and that's no money nowadays for a squad player.
