World Cup 2018 Match Thread
Re: World Cup 2018 Match Thread
nice goal
Re: World Cup 2018 Match Thread
It scares me that they're increasing the number of teams at the World Cup to 48 for 2026. If teams like Saudi Arabia are in it now, what sort of crap are we going to have to watch then? Guam vs The Virginia Islands?
Tournaments like these should always be quality over quantity for me. Russia were decent and scored some excellent goals but Saudi Arabia should not be in this competition really.

Saudi should be there, finished above the Aussies and have had some decent results lately, obviously just not their night and they ahve no experience playing outside of Asia.

Its already bad enough when around half of the games are boring to watch, its going to get even worse when you get more piss poor teams facing each other, it can easily put people off watching until you get to the knockout stages.

It really depends where the extra qualifiers come from though. Because there's not a lot separating the near-qualifiers and qualifiers from continents like Europe and South America, so more of those won't compromise things much. I imagine for fans of the countries that can always count on getting out of the group stage it feels like a waste of time adding more countries to the mix, but for those of us who are from the also-ran countries, I appreciate the hope of qualifying. The Deluded Pablo Diego Jose Francisco wrote: ↑Thu Jun 14, 2018 5:05 pmThis.Edison Heisen wrote: ↑Thu Jun 14, 2018 4:58 pmIt scares me that they're increasing the number of teams at the World Cup to 48 for 2026. All that said, now that it's confirmed we're co-hosting, that's all that matters!

At work we have a lad from a local college that comes in on Fridays for work experience, he's from Portugal and we were watching the earlier games and he wasn't happy when lineker said it was Spain Vs Ronaldo, said that's all he ever heard about their national team
Also he was playing for Benfica youth teams before his parents brought him here, I told him if he is looking for clubs I'll be his agent
