Wasn't there a summer where we signed like four in five days or something? I think Cabella was one of them.

Yeah I remember that
Still think we'll see at least 2 more incoming.

Re: Yoshinori Muto Transfer Thread- (9.5m fee agreed)
I don't know enough about Muto but looks to be more of a striker/winger, and not a direct replacement for Perez. I think Perez's defensive work rate is the reason he's get stuck in the number 10/second-striker role, which is shame because he's such an instinctive finisher.CIH wrote: ↑Thu Jul 26, 2018 10:27 pmI see him more as a 10 personally, and I think he's mostly played there as well. Pretty sure he was a 10 at Tenerife, was played up front for us under Pardew primarilly due to injjuries I think. Was definitely not meant to be in the first team as early as he was. If you think Perez is a striker, and based on what you quoted, does that mean you see Muto as a 10 then? As in, not as competition to Perez. Genuinely curious, as I've seen a few people say that, but I thought muto was being brought in as a striker.

Tend to agree. His finishing is probably his best quality. I've never found him to be much of a creator, and don't think he gets on the ball enough - both of which are important qualities of 10s.jpg wrote: ↑Sat Jul 28, 2018 3:43 pmI don't know enough about Muto but looks to be more of a striker/winger, and not a direct replacement for Perez. He does sound more of a Gayle replacement with Rondon being mitros, by the sounds of it he's probably an improvement on Gayle , only time will tell with Rondon.

If he doesn't sign, I find it reasonable to blame it all on lassassinblanc

It's usually at least a week, but judging by the number of caps that the lad has and the fact he was in the WC squad, the likelihood of this being denied is very low. I believe there used to be an arbitrary measure on how many times you've played for your national team, and then how many games you have played for the national team over the past 2-3 years / how many games that team played in total, but not sure what they use now.

If my wife's experience of the home office is any indicator, he'll play for us by 2020 at the earliest

Re: Yoshinori Muto Transfer Thread- (awaiting work permit)
I think he's only played something like 6 times in the last 2 years. One appearance at the WC. From everything I've read, mostly from (presumably) brighter people than me, he should be granted a permit, but likely on appeal. Might take a bit this one.omegaprimevkm wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 8:01 am

Given that he's played (worked) in Germany for a number of years you'd hope that it wouldn't be too much of an issue.

Re: Yoshinori Muto Transfer Thread- (awaiting work permit)
He's currently in the appeal stage hence why he has to go through the courts for it.
As Ben says though he has played in Germany for the last 3 years and being part of his countries WC squad as well as his 9.5m fee and I'd imagine 40-50k a week wages mean it should pass on appeal.

I'll Hazard a guess

Re: Yoshinori Muto Transfer Thread- (awaiting work permit)
I'd add, more broadly about work permits, the English FA rules also changed to require that the country they play for has a high enough world ranking (I forget now what that minimum rank is). Obviously for Japan that's not relevant because they're highly ranked and qualified for the WC, but I've had big concerns about what it means for keeping great players from mediocre national teams out of England. For example, a Canadian was just sold to Bayern Munich even though he had interest in playing in England - because he will never qualify for a work permit.omegaprimevkm wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 8:01 am

Is he (the Canadian guy) and good? I saw he got 2 goals and 2 assists in an MLS game the other day.
