WEEKEND FOOTBALL - 17/20 AUGUST 2018
Evening all,
Apologies for missing the first weekend of the season but had travelled over on Friday for the Spurs game and, even at my age, alcohol got the better of me and by 7 'o clock I was barely even able to stand never mind bash a keyboard! So here goes:-
17 AUGUST 2018
THE CHAMPIONSHIP
19:45 Birmingham City 0-0 Swansea City Sky
18 AUGUST 2018
THE PREMIER LEAGUE
12:30 Cardiff City 0-0 NEWCASTLE UNITED Sky
15:00 Everton 2-1 Southampton
15:00 Leicester City 2-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers
15:00 Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Fulham
15:00 West Ham United 1-2 AFC Bournemouth
17:30 Chelsea 3-2 Arsenal BT
THE CHAMPIONSHIP
15:00 Bristol City 0-2 Middlesbrough
15:00 Hull City 0-1 Blackburn Rovers
15:00 Ipswich Town 1-1 Aston Villa
15:00 Leeds United 2-0 Rotherham United
15:00 Millwall 2-1 Derby County
15:00 Reading 0-1 Bolton Wanderers
15:00 Sheffield United 2-1 Norwich City
15:00 West Bromwich Albion (WBA) 7-1 Queens Park Rangers (QPR)
15:00 Wigan Athletic 2-2 Nottingham Forest
17:30 Preston North End (PNE) 2-2 Stoke City Sky
19 AUGUST 2018
THE PREMIER LEAGUE
13:30 Burnley 1-3 Watford
13:30 Manchester City 6-1 Huddersfield Town Sky
16:00 Brighton & Hove Albion 3-2 Manchester United Sky
THE CHAMPIONSHIP
15:00 Brentford 2-0 Sheffield Wednesday
LEAGUE 1
15:00 mackems 3 (THREE) -0 Scunthorpe United
20 AUGUST 2018
THE PREMIER LEAGUE
20:00 Crystal Palace 0-2 Liverpool Sky
Kicking off at lunchtime sees the mighty Toon having a chance to go to the top of the table if they can come away from The Principality with a 5 goal winning margin although by 5 o' clock our heroes could find themselves at the bottom of the table should things not go their way! In the afternoon kick-offs draw specialists Everton and Southampton face-off at Goodison Park whilst over at the King Power Stadium The Foxes host The Wolves to see who has top dog status in the Midlands. There are two London derbies with Spurs, still playing at Wembley, hosting newly promoted Fulham and in the teatime game Chelsea host Arsenal in what could be described as the first "six pointer" of the season. Saturday also sees big spenders but goalless and pointless West Ham face high flying AFC Bournemouth in what could be described as The 'Arry Derby.
Burnley and Watford, both tipped by a lot of people for the drop this season, meet at Turf Moor with The Clarets on the verge of Europa League qualification and The Hornets buzzing after their opening day victory. The defending Champions are at home to Huddersfield Town and unless The Terriers find some bite then anything but another win for Citeh is hard to see whilst he other Manchester side visit the south coast and the hosts will be hoping to register their first point(s) of the season over Mourinhos' boys.
Monday sees a clash of the early pacesetters at Selhurst Park and Woy will be looking to put one over his former employers but at the moment Liverpool look irresistible and should maintain their winning start to the season.
Scrolling down the page no doubt everybody will have noticed that Scunthorpe United are the visitors at The Stadium of s**** this weekend but I'm not sure why it is on Sunday.
Anyway that's your lot, thanks for reading and enjoy your weekend!

I don't think they'll go down, but if they qualify for the EL I think they'll struggle (definitely bottom half).Remember Colo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 17, 2018 8:50 pmA lot of people have picked Burnley to get relegated??

It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.

And I was late to that. Good team goal there, and Fulham have looked a lot better in the second half.

More people seem to be concerned about a player who no longer plays for us scoring, than one that does

Are Chelsea playing well or Arsenal playing like they usually do?
