Match day - NUFC v Chelski

Post by Toondes » Sat Aug 25, 2018 1:50 pm

Chelsea (h)

Sunday sees Newcastle look to extend their unbeaten home record against Chelsea to an unlikely six games, when Maurizio Sarri bring his Blues to Tyneside.

It's a 4pm kick-off and tickets are still on sale. The visitors have taken their full allocation of 3,263 seats.

NUFC: DeAndre Yedlin is expected to return.

In addition to long-term absentee Florian Lejeune, United will be without Kenedy who cannot appear against his parent club.

Isaac Hayden serves the first of a three match suspension following his red card at Cardiff.

CFC: Cesc Fabregas remains doubtful.

Chelsea have a 100% record after two Premier League games this season - following up a 3-0 victory away to Huddersfield with a 3-2 home win over Arsenal.

Their most recent PL defeat came at SJP in the final match of last season - their only loss in nine outings.

Referee: Paul Tierney - the Lancashire-based official oversaw our 1-3 loss at Manchester City and the 0-1 defeat by Bournemouth at Gallowgate.

The NUFC Fans Food bank collection station will be open once again pre-match on Strawberry Place.

Travel: No scheduled Metro closures this weekend.

Dedicated buses run from Metro Centre (X50) and Gosforth Great Park (Q3) More details here

If we don't lose 4,5-0 it will be a good result.

We do seem to be a bit of a bogey team to Chelsea over the years, so saying that I predict a 0-3 loss

We have a decent enough record against Chelsea think we'll either win or draw

2-0 or 1-1
I'll Hazard a guess

Can't see anything but a Chelsea win. Would defo take a point before kick off if offered it.

Interesting line up. Looking forward to seeing how the new lads get on. Still not confident though.

Shelvey has a thigh problem and Lascelles has an ankle injury. Interesting team today
