Match day thread - Citeh v NUFC
Manchester City (a)
Newcastle are in Premier League action on Saturday when they visit the Etihad Stadium for a 5.30pm start against reigning champions Manchester City.
It's live on BT Sport and the Magpies will be aiming to avoid what would be their tenth successive PL defeat at this venue.
NUFC: Florian Lejeune and Jonjo Shelvey remain out due to injury, but Jamaal Lascelles is available
Javier Manquillo and Matt Ritchie miss out, while Isaac Hayden completes his three match ban.
DeAndre Yedlin is available, after escaping any further action following his alleged elbow on Chelsea's Olivier Giroud during last Sunday's game at Gallowgate.
Footage of the second half incident was reviewed by a three man Premier League panel and the unanimous decision required to punish Yedlin with a retrospective red card was thankfully not reached.
MCFC: Kevin De Bruyne, Claudio Bravo, Danilo, Philippe Sandler and Eliaquim Mangala remain sidelined.
Pep Guardiola's side were last beaten on home soil by their local rivals, Manchester United winning 3-2 at the Etihad back in April. Aside from that, they won 16 PL home games and drew with Everton and Huddersfield - the Terriers the only side to prevent them scoring.
Referee: Kevin Friend - a first meeting with the Leicester-based official this season, last sighted taking charge of our 0-3 FA Cup Fourth Round loss away to Chelsea back in January.

In before the team is announced and then called "same old s****" and we proceed to lose the game with a 90%-10% possession swing and we are the worst team in the world to have ever existed and that benitez needs to take some blame and should move on etc.
Re: Match day thread - Citeh v NUFC
In before 1-0 is a good result, most teams conceded more than that.

We'll hold out until about 35 mins and then the floodgates will open.

They'll be 2 nil up at half time. They'll then score again quickly after half time. We'll score with 30 mins to go prompting BBC live text to go "A glimmer of hope for Newcastle?". Then they'll score twice in the last 10 minutes.

I have the Man C keeper and a defender in my fantasy team so I'd rather we lost 4-0 than 4-1

We won't have players far enough forward to cause a risk or take advantage of one.Colback's Orange Tufts wrote: ↑Sat Sep 01, 2018 1:45 pmCan we also Ederson to take Alisson type risks on the ball?
