Transfer window takeover saga 2018

If (big if...) true, it's a very fair and realistic price. Prepare to be disappointed tho...

Copy and pasted from NUFC.com....

From The Shields Gazette, Tuesday:

Mike Ashley is prepared to lower his asking price for Newcastle United – as fans step up their protests against him.

Ashley put the club up for sale 11 months ago as the team battled to stay in the Premier League.

The billionaire – who is focused on his Sports Direct empire – had indicated that he was looking for upwards of £380million.

However, the Gazette understands that Ashley is ready to revise his expectations and consider bids closer to £300million.

Ashley broke off takeover talks with financier Amanda Staveley in January.

Staveley’s PCP Capital Partners had lodged an offer of £250million, which was rejected by Ashley.

An associate of Ashley labelled talks with Staveley as a “complete waste of time”.

Ashley has had no success in finding an alternative buyer up to now.

United fans, angered by two relegations and years of under-investment in his 11 years as owner, have stepped up their protests against Ashley this season.

In a word, "bizarre". In another word, "suspicious". To be filed under "believe it when it happens".

Lets hope so, that said I don't blame him for backing out of a deal when the buyer is offering you 130m less than the asking price.

Wow...it's almost as if he has acknowledged that he overvalued the club in the first place, and that it wasn't fooling prospective buyers?!

No, it was about £350m+ last year, you're probably thinking of the first time he put it up for sale a few years ago.

I remember the first sale attempt that had dragged on and on. He was prepared to drop the price and accept an £80 million deal but turned it down because the buyer asked if he could pay in instalments..

Again, as annoying as Ashley is, you really can;t blame him for not wanting to be f***ed around by buyers. I'd also argue that if they were working offers like this, are they really going to be able to readily finance a premier league club?

I don't blame him for the failure of any officially announced sale attempt. He put the club up for sale and potential bidders have wasted a lot of time and effort for nothing.

It'll be all bollocks. Won't change a thing. He'll still be here in 5 years time. Fat cronut.

It's understandable why most of the fans are sceptic. But on the other hand ashley is at unprecedented situation. He feel the heat from all sides for the first time at his 'attempts' to sell the club. And now no matter how shity they are his PR agency trigger all of their assets.. But even if that news is true, the fans should keep the pressure on.

Is it Pizza Express who do the 'diet' pizza where they cut a bloody big hole in the middle and replace it with salad?

Could have been worse. Could have done someone a favour and given him Nachos.
