Match day - Man U v NUFC
Manchester United (a)
The Magpies return to Premier League action later today, visiting Old Trafford for a 5.30pm televised start against Jose Mourinho's side.
NUFC: Florian Lejeune and Salomon Rondon remain out due to injury but Paul Dummett and Federico Fernandez have now returned to full training, although neither are assured of starting the game.
Quite when Rondon will recover from a thigh injury remains to be seen, Rafa Benitez giving little away before the Leicester game other than to say that a decision will follow after a "couple of weeks."
Unconfirmed reports however claim that the on-loan West Bromwich Albion striker could be missing for a far longer period of time.
Newcastle confirmed that Jamie Sterry was missing due to injury but there's no mention of midfielder Ki Sung yueng - last sighted in action a month ago.
MUFC: Marcos Rojo, Jesse Lingard and Ander Herrera all miss out but Ashley Young should be available.
While Newcastle had a free week in which to prepare, the Red Devils were held 0-0 at home by Valencia in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Domestically, three wins, one draw and three losses in their opening seven league games represents Manchester United's poorest start to any season since 1989/90.
On home territory this season they've not won in either the league or cup since a 2-1 opening day success over Leicester City - losing 0-3 to Spurs before being held 1-1 by Wolves.
In the League Cup meanwhile, a 2-2 draw with Championship side Derby County led to an exit on penalties.
Referee: Anthony Taylor - last seen taking charge of our 2-1 home victory over Arsenal back in April.
Now listed as being Cheshire-based, Taylor was born in the Greater Manchester suburb of Wythenshawe and lives in Altrincham - six miles from Old Trafford.
Declaring himself an Alty fan, he's allowed to officiate at both Manchester United and City games - and was in the middle for our 1-2 League Cup defeat at Old Trafford during September 2012 and again when the Red Devils won 1-0 at SJP in March 2015.
Travel: There's another strike affecting Northern Rail services on Saturday.

Re: Match day - Man U v NUFC
All this talk about manure on BBC, papers etc about mourihno's job on the line and the team playing s****...you just know they're gonna hammer us today.
Re: Match day - Man U v NUFC
Question is, do you actually care?originallad wrote: ↑Sat Oct 06, 2018 9:23 amAll this talk about manure on BBC, papers etc about mourihno's job on the line and the team playing s****...you just know they're gonna hammer us today.
Re: Match day - Man U v NUFC
A few Man Utd fans actually think we have a chance today. Mustn't have watched us at any point this season.
If we beat them today they should sack Mourinho on the spot.

Re: Match day - Man U v NUFC
joselu starts
Re: Match day - Man U v NUFC
Rumours has it he will be sacked win or loose. And of course, it's not all Mourinho's fault. These players that have been playing for ManU since Ferguson left have all looked like they don't really care.
They started off okay with Mou but now that they have had negative comments from media and fans for a good period of time.
They either look scared or like they don't care again tbh, and managers will be chopped every time this happens is clubs, especially in a club like Man U. Doesn't matter how arrogant of lazy a player looks when they don't want a manager around, some other manager comes in and he gets another chance when i decides to give a f***.
At least we have a manager who has the team at his back, and I don't doubt our players give a f***, but they will never have the ability to do anything big, and our owner is a swine who keeps sucking the t*** of Newcastle United Football Club dry until he explodes and turns into a black hole in the sky.
EDIT: In that little blowout, I actually sencured t***... you are welcome.
Really, auto censor on it?

Re: Match day - Man U v NUFC
I do. I've put separate bets on us to lose 4 v 1, by 2 goals, 4+ goals, h/t us f/t them and lascelles to score anytime.Oval85 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 06, 2018 9:39 amQuestion is, do you actually care?originallad wrote: ↑Sat Oct 06, 2018 9:23 amAll this talk about manure on BBC, papers etc about mourihno's job on the line and the team playing s****...you just know they're gonna hammer us today.

It'll either be the most boring game ever or we'll lose 5/6-0.

The side, if anyone is arsed.
Re: Match day - Man U v NUFC
Nice to see Muto get a go up top, unless we're playing bloody six midfielders. Or 5-5-0.

At least Fernandez is back. He's been solid so far.
Have zero expectations of a good result though.
