MLS owners need to be careful, in the world of football they are a tiny presence, it's great they are getting some good players in to the league but how long will it last if clubs hold out for stupid fees, most in South America will want a stepping stone to European clubs and if they try to play hardball players could think twice about joining, like with Almiron he was apparently told they won't stand in his way if a move to Europe is on the cards, yet already they have an owner talking ridiculous fees.

Yeah, this sounds like a lot of smoke blowing from a new owner in the league who has to act tough since they just won the cup. Especially considering the league commissioner just said:
"We need to become more of a selling league," Garber said Friday at a downtown Atlanta hotel. "We've been buying for so long. But as we've gone through the analysis, it's hard to justify the investment we've made in players and the investment we've made in domestic development. We have to have something that turns the model around or it's going to be unsustainable."

I'm pretty sure after Montpellier won the league, they slapped a 100m euro price tag on Cabella. I'm not entirely confident we will sign this Almiron fella, and certainly not on the cheap, but I'd be surprised if he goes for plus 30m. Too big a risk from a developing league.

I've seen Almiron in games here a few times. He's good. Very fast, decent touch, but even easier to push off the ball than Perez.

Aarons has completed his glorious loan spell at Slovan Liberec, he'll return to SJP after amassing 769 minutes this season and banging in zero goals.

Speaking to someone I know from Leeds scouting team.

They are very keen on bringing in one of our keepers either Darlow (6-8m) or Woodman (On loan).
Said preference would be Darlow as they'd prefer a permanent deal or a loan with an option to buy which they won't for Woodman.

Darlow is thought to keen on the move
I'll Hazard a guess

Yeah that link has been floating around for a while, would make sense. Woodman has been on the bench more often than Darlow lately I think, so wouldn't be the worst idea to let him go. Elliot still knocking about for backup? Woodman could do with a loan out though. Butland went to Barnsley I think and it was great for his development.

Yeah I'd rather see Woodman go on loan and get game time, Darlow has been injured I believe the last few weeks (elbow) so that is more why he hasn't featured.

I'm not sure what is up with Rob Eliott I know he picked up an injury during pre-season. But surely he is fit now.

Best case would be something like Darlow going, Woodman going on loan, Elliot or someone brought in as backup and one the youngsters ( Harker or the Finnish lad) used as a number 3
I'll Hazard a guess

If we can get £6-£8m for Darlow we should let him go.

Tammy Abraham linked if Chelsea sell in Jan (they can recall him from Villa). Obviously one to fit with the Ashley transfer policy. I’d take him as a young squad player and then we can flog Joselu to Villa...

It’s inevitable

A few loans in & out, with 1 or 2 ‘nearly done’

Almiron is the first of those

I've prepared myself for another disappointing transfer window and I'm assuming Rafa has too!
