Paul Gascoigne charged again...

Sad news, doesn't sound 'serious', but it seems he still can't adjust to 'normal' life ...

Paul Gascoigne charged with sex assault on Durham train

Football legend Paul Gascoigne has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman on a train from York to Durham. The former England midfielder was arrested at Durham station on 20 August. British Transport Police said the 51-year-old has now been charged with one count of sexual assault by touching and will appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on 11 December.

Mr Gascoigne shot to international fame during the 1990 World Cup. After leaving his hometown club Newcastle United in 1988, he enjoyed success at Tottenham Hotspur, Lazio and Rangers.

He has had a well-documented struggle with alcoholism in the past.

A spokeswoman for British Transport Police said Mr Gascoigne, of Leicester, was "charged via postal requisition with one count of sexual assault by touching, contrary to Section 3 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003. The charge relates to an incident on board a train on 20 August this year," she added.

Not about this particularly, but I don’t see why the names of people accused of sexual offences are released before they are proven guilty.

By all means name and shame when guilt has been proven, but not before. A lot of false accusations are made but mud sticks. Similarly if someone has been proven to falsely accuse someone then they should be named too.
I'm the scumbag outlaw. You're the pillar of justice. Neither of us like looking at ourselves in the mirror. Do we have a deal?

I suppose its tricky to hide it when he's going to be appearing in court. Plus things like this are actually what tends to encourage more victims to come forward if there are any, had a formal charge against Jimmy Savile been made public earlier a lot more could have been prevented.

It's a tricky one though as you say.
