In true Mike Ashley fashion there’s a suggestion that the deal is heavily incentivised and we’re (only) paying an initial £16m. Notice the club website didn’t mention anything about record breaking in their reveal.

But hey, welcome Almiron <diva>
TBH, if true, that's a cracking deal. Ashley's a penny pinching prick who I can't wait to sell up, but there's never any shame in driving a hard bargain as long as you actually make the deal.
I had the first custom w***

How many weeks of pre season will he have had? Any word on if he's fit enough to be involved at once?
Last match played was on the 8th December and the new season doesn't start until the beginning of March so he won't have been in any pre-season training at all.
MLS pre-season training camps have been going for a couple weeks now. I'm unfortunately very familiar because Toronto FC have been in shambles, with Giovinco, Victor Vasquez and Gregory Van Der Wiel all leaving in that time.

Edit: Although Toronto might have started earlier than most because of Concacaf Champions League starting before the season. Though I think Atlanta might be in that too.

It's written in the stars.

In the next few months we'll be rollicking Rafa for never dropping Almiron.

Exactly, I don't want us to make it the club record just for the sake of it. We could have spent £19m on Joselu if that was all we were doing it for...

Or he could be a more disciplined and less flashy but effective Ben Arfa who works hard and tracks back. <awe>

Don’t believe I said I wanted that?

Just pointing out that as always nothing is ever as straight forward as it seems under Ashley.

While I don't think anyone expected him to start, apparently Almiron can't appear even on the bench against Spurs due to international clearance/visa issues. One of those things. Should all be sorted by Wolves on the 11th.

Yeah probably off the bench v Wolves and maybe a start v Huddersfield.
I'm the scumbag outlaw. You're the pillar of justice. Neither of us like looking at ourselves in the mirror. Do we have a deal?

It's been far too long since a Paraguayan tore Huddersfield a new one.

This is a decent vid. Has a good eye for a pass and looks very direct.

His agent has had a bit of a dig at Atlanta United, apparently they said they wanted the £30m for him but every interested club said it was far too much but Atlanta were unwilling to budge on it, said the fee agreed with us was the one he had suggested to Atlanta a month ago and they refused it. Apparently Almiron wasnt happy about it and sounds like he has left them on bad terms, Hes also absolved us of any blame saying we had nothing to do with the delay.

Certainly sounds like a sensible thing to claim when moving under these circumstances.

Overall from what ive seen of him hes similar to Ben Arfa but with a better workrate. Really think he will be as good as if not better than him.

Ben Arfa is the obvious comparison to make, there's definitely similarities. He was such a talented player, just lacked the attitude/desire/commitment whatever. If Almiron can bring that as well as everything else <awe>
