Wolves (a)

Monday sees the Magpies on live TV once again, this time trekking to Molineux for an 8pm kick-off live on Sky Sports.

Our 2-1 success against Burnley back in November finally ended that woeful PL record in matches played on a Monday night.

This will be United's fourth-ever Premier League visit to this venue and we're yet to be beaten there, winning one and drawing the other two.

Rafa's side will wear their blue change kit.

Saturday's results were a bit of a mixed bag with expected defeats for the bottom two; Fulham and Huddersfield Town losing home games to Manchester United and Arsenal respectively.

However, Burnley's 3-1 success at Brighton and Cardiff City's dramatic 2-1 win at Southampton left us just one place above the drop zone by virtue of goal difference.

The Saints slipped into the bottom three and there are now just three points separating six sides, from 18th up to Crystal Palace in 13th.

NUFC: Jonjo Shelvey and Rob Elliot remain out, but Mo Diame, Paul Dummett, Ki and Karl Darlow are all available for selection, as is Miguel Almiron.

WWFC: While Newcastle have an extended break before this game, Wolves were in FA Cup Fourth Round replay action on Tuesday night - beating Shrewsbury Town 3-2 at Molineux.

Nuno Espirito Santo then took a 23 man squad away for warm weather training in Marbella.

The hosts are bidding for a fourth successive PL victory, following home wins over Leicester City (4-3) and West Ham (3-0) plus a 3-1 success at Everton.

Wolves are by no means impregnable at Molineux though, with Watford, Spurs, Huddersfield Town, Liverpool and Crystal Palace all collecting three points there this season while both Everton and Manchester City drew.

If you aren't going to Molineux, The Ware Rooms on Carliol Square have the game on their big screen TVs with matchday food and drink offers as follows:

Bit of a conundrum: Make it into the office for 6am tomorrow or go to the pub tonight for the match?

I would have been pleasantly surprised to see Almiron start, so not too disappointed. Odd that there's no Barecca, I expected him to start to Ritchie could return to the right side. Maybe picked up a knock?

I think our Monday night football record is utter f***ing s*** is it not? (could be wrong mind)

Anyway, 3-0 Wolves.

As Toondes correctly says in his original matchday post that atrocious run was ended in November at Burnley!

2-1 Toon tonight as well!

He's on the bench. Same line-up no changes. Would have been nice to see Almiron start but hopefully Rafa will give him a good 20 min or more run out. Diame back on the bench too. Like a new signing. <diva>

Wolves to thrash us 4-1. Rondon header then everything goes downhill with Jimenez equalizing before half-time then Jota nets in a brace and Neves scores a screamer towards the end after robbing the ball of Almiron. <roll> <whistle>
