Match day thread - West Ham v Toon

Post by Toondes » Sat Mar 02, 2019 8:50 am

West Ham (a)

Saturday sees Newcastle make their second-ever visit to the London Stadium, facing the Hammers in a 5.30pm kick-off that's live on Sky Sports.

The Magpies' 2,900 allocation is sold out.

A ceremony before kick-off will see one stand named in honour of West Ham stalwart Billy Bonds, following similar honours for Trevor Brooking and Bobby Moore.

NUFC: No new injury issues for Rafa Benitez, with Ciaran Clark still missing. Jonjo Shelvey won't be involved following his outing for the U23s on Friday.

Coral matchday betting is online here

Their "Your Call" option allows you to create bespoke odds and we've cobbled a few examples together:

Match drawn HT, NUFC win FT, 6/1
NUFC keep a clean sheet, Almiron to score 18/1
Rondon to score, match drawn 13/2
NUFC win, Ritchie to be booked 12/1

Coral's new punter offer is bet £10 receive £30 in free bets. Terms & conditions apply online here

WHUFC: Fabian Balbuena misses out but both Marko Arnautovic and Aaron Cresswell should return.

Ahead of our visit, Manuel Pellegrini's side lost 0-1 at Manchester City in the Premier League on Wednesday.

With Arnautovic missing due to illness, former Magpie Andy Carroll completed the entire game - his first 90 minute outing since January 2018.

Travel: No scheduled disruptions to either the DLR, Jubilee or Central Lines, but rail services will be affected by the closure of Liverpool Street Station.

For anyone whose journey begins or ends on North Tyneside, be aware that buses replace metro services between Wallsend and Monkseaton all day on both Saturday and Sunday.

I think this is going to be a draw, 1-1 perhaps.

That said a win would be an amazing result and would move us towards the mid-table battle with games against Bournemouth and Everton next...
I had the first custom w***

It'll be a tough match but we shall emerge triumphant and finally overtake Bournemouth and I can then start taking the piss out of my Dad because he's been a right t*** for months.

Got permission from MrsOT to watch the match in the pub.

All I had to do was promise to sort the garden out tomorrow. She has no idea it's supposed to rain all day.

Muto should always be ahead of Joselu, good to see him back in the squad. Manquillo starting again.. interesting Rafa's preferring him over Yedlin now mind Manquillo's been decent as of late defensively he's alright attacking wise I'll say Yedelin's better but Manquillo gives us a overall balance on that side and Yedelin's defensive ability is questionable to say the least always has a mistake or two in him. No Shevely or Barreca in the squad <scratch>

Going for a 3-1 West Ham win. Anderson terrorizing us with 2 assists and a goal, Chicharito will score a poacher's goal and Declan Rice a long range screamer. Muto to come of the bench and score a consolation. <diva>

Yedlin has got great pace and gets himself in good positions going forward but is so wasteful. Never whips an early ball in touch is often poor, slows moves down and is poor defensively. Manquillo is a lot more meh, you aren't going to notice him but he's tall he's strong and reasonably solid.

RB is our biggest weakness atm
