Safety
So , with 8 fixtures remaining we need 6 points to hit the 40 point cushion. Home games against Palace and Southampton are must win imo. We might get away with 37-38 point mark but it’s too close for comfort. I’m quietly optimistic .
Bournemouth (a)
Arsenal (a)
Crystal Palace (h)
Leicester City (a)
Southampton (h)
Brighton (a)
Liverpool (h)
Fulham (a)

Re: Safety
Yeah I think it’s something like 6 points to guarantee safety, 12 points for 12th/13th, 18 points for 9th/10th. I think a realistic target for us is 12 points - 4 wins from 6 games v Bournemouth, Palace, Leicester Southampton, Brighton and Fulham is tough but achievable.

Big chance for us next weekend to put pressure on the teams below us if we can beat Bournemouth as Palace, Brighton, Southampton and Cardiff are not in action due to the FA Cup.

Cardiff and Southampton are in OK form though... and we’re only 6 points ahead of Cardiff.

Re: Safety
I wouldn't say any of those are easy games
Brighton, Palace and Southampton have all been picking up points and are hitting some form. I've not seen who the teams around us have to play yet, though.

Re: Safety
Compared to some we have a decent looking run-in only having to play 2 of the top 6 whilst Burnley, Brighton and Cardiff have to play 4 each, Palace 3 whilst Southampton have only 1.
I'm discounting Fulham and Huddersfield as, barring miracles of biblical proportions, they look doomed.

Re: Safety
Yeah but Cardiff's run in is
Chelsea
Man City
Burnley
Liverpool
Fulham
Palace
Man Utd
Can't see them picking up more than 6/7 points from that

Re: Safety
Burnley finish with Chelsea (a), Man City (h), Everton (a) and Arsenal (h) so probably need to win at least 2, if not 3, of their next 4 games.

Re: Safety
Because of this and Cardiff's fixtures I think 1 more win would see us safe. Two to be 99.9% certain.UlversToon wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2019 1:00 pmBurnley finish with Chelsea (a), Man City (h), Everton (a) and Arsenal (h) so probably need to win at least 2, if not 3, of their next 4 games.

Beat Bournemouth next weekend and we're safe.
Re: Safety
Is anyone actually concerned about relegation now?
For me I'm thinking about how high we can finish, not worrying about 17th.

I’m thinking in a similar way but need one more win before I totally stop worrying...

Re: Safety
Yeah I’m still worried , it’s probablt due to the teams below us hitting form . It seems every time we win teams below us do as well but it’s nice to see Burnley losing just now .

Been getting annoyed by how well Cardiff do, no disrespect to them but of the 3 that came up they looked way out of their depth in comparison but credit to them they are pulling big results out of the bag and giving themselves a good chance, for entirely selfish reasons i was hoping they would have secured that 3rd relegation spot by now. No. There is no chance at all that we’ll need 40 points to stay up. As pointed out by someone, Cardiff have a very tough run in.

Re: Safety
Fair play to Colin Wanker, he's done a good job this season. I think most people expected them to be gone by this stage of the season. Especially in the wake of the Sala thing, I'd quite like them to stay up - obviously not at our expense. They are still favourites to go, but I think it could be any of them, Saints or Burnley.Don Sholeone wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2019 5:25 pmBeen getting annoyed by how well Cardiff do, no disrespect to them but of the 3 that came up they looked way out of their depth in comparison but credit to them they are pulling big results out of the bag and giving themselves a good chance, for entirely selfish reasons i was hoping they would have secured that 3rd relegation spot by now.
