I've always just found it easier to spread clotted cream onto the stable scone surface than onto jam. Plus from a visual perspective, the jam can still be showcased atop the cream than if it's hidden beneath it.overseasTOON wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 9:10 pmThis split the French chefs 50/50. Steve Bruce has told Manchester United they have no chance of signing Sean Longstaff.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is interested in the Newcastle midfielder as he looks to add to his squad before the start of the season in just over two weeks.
United are weighing up a £30m bid for Longstaff but Bruce, who met with Mike Ashley on Wednesday, insists he is going nowhere.
“That won’t happen. I’m very confident," the new Newcastle boss assured supporters.
“We don’t want to sell our best young players, that’s for sure.”

If it goes to deadline day just send them Matt instead, by the time they realise it'll be too late.

Remember GCHQ monitor all of these discussion website. If Her Maj has her scones served with jam first then any suggestion of cream first will be deemed evidence of treasonable activity. Names of the perpetrators of the deviant cream first process will have been noted. Expect a loud knock on your door soon.PTAO? wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 8:23 pmCream firstCaer Newydd wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 5:56 pmhttps://www.independent.co.uk/life-styl ... 60686.html

Wasn't something similar said by Pardew regarding Carroll? I don't think we will sell him for what it's worth, but you never know with this lot. It'd take more than the 35m though.Tsi wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 10:24 pmSteve Bruce has told Manchester United they have no chance of signing Sean Longstaff.

Longstaff will only go for silly money, the sort which we would be foolish to turn down, every player at every club has a price, if a Barca or Real slapped 200m in for Sterling then city would sell in a heartbeat. The only reason for the comments about not selling is because they don't believe anyone would pay the fee that they would be willing to accept. The same thing with Carroll, nobody at that time could have predicted Liverpool would have gone that high, people forget we turned down silly money from both Liverpool and spurs before we finally came to a deal, I was surprised at the time when the £28-30m bids were getting knocked back, just have to remember back then that was around the same fees for some of the world's best players.

A few places reporting this albeit not very reliable sources.Newcastle United are set to confirm the free signing of Kyle Scott today (Thursday, 25 July) on a two-year deal

Is he likely to be in the first team? I.E. push Colback further down.

Marrony interest said to be in advanced talks. He has a 31m release clause but can be bought for 11m this is due to his club being in financial trouble and needing to raise 6.4m to pay off debt.
I can't see this happening because of work permit problems, he wouldn't meet any of the criteria.

Portuguese newspaper Record have also backed up these claims being made by the Star, stating Newcastle are in talks to complete a €12m (£10.7m) deal after stealing a march on Sporting Lisbon.

"Backed up these claims" Wouldn't it be more that the star has just piggybacked the same reports?

I think the club knows that whatever they can get for Longstaff now will pale in comparison to what they can get should he advance his game further this coming season. At the time of Carroll's sale, 35m was crazy money and they probably that was as much as they'd ever get for him. But in today's market, 30m is nothing, and they surely know he could be worth double in a year or two's time.
Edit: And sorry for reiterating a lot of what DS said above.

If we ever need a cb there's this guy

So we're in for a winger now it looks like we're getting linked with everyone available in that positionNewcastle are looking to beat Aston Villa to the signing of Liverpool’s Harry Wilson.
The links to Wilson have grown quiet over the past few months after it was declared that he would be given a chance at Liverpool this pre-season. However prior to that his price had reportedly been set at £21M.

I'd be good with him too. Who knows if we'll actually land any of these rumoured wingers, but I at least appreciate rumours of exciting attacking prospects like these.Tsi wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 9:05 pmSo we're in for a winger now it looks like we're getting linked with everyone available in that positionNewcastle are looking to beat Aston Villa to the signing of Liverpool’s Harry Wilson.
