Players back in training today. Apparently Lazaar is on his way back as well, and said that his only focus is Newcastle. Like a new signing?

Apparently he didn’t impress on loan to WBA second half of last season (going by what a wba season ticket holder I know told me).

Murphy seems a likeable lad, feel sorry for him, didn't really get many chances but then looked a bit out of his depth when he did play. Probably Rafa's biggest mistake here and I think it unjustly contributed to the club being apprehensive about giving him more transfer freedom. Just would have been good if the club would have focused on the Lejeune, Rondon, Schar, Almiron deals rather than the likes of Murphy and Muto.

I don’t think I’d say it was his biggest mistake tbh. When we signed him he was coming off the back of an excellent season at Norwich, and the price paid was the going rate for a young English player who’d performed well at Championship level and was attracting some interest.

I’d say that not really giving Mitro a chance was a bigger issue for me (especially when we persisted with Joselu for so long).

Mitro had a chance at Fulham and didn’t set the world alight. Granted In a poor team but he’s not good enough for a big club
