Villa win on penalties...Leeds v Derby tomorrow night.

Re: Playoffs
Villa going to Wembley. West Brom out. The result aids our Rondon/Gayle deal.

Re: Playoffs
Really hope Leeds wins tonight. I understand I don't have the existing rivalry/animosity towards them that some older fans of Newcastle might have, but I had a fair few friends from Leeds when living in Newcastle, and it really has been too long since they were in the Prem. Plus, Bielsa's a mad man and they've been pretty fun to watch this season.
Re: Playoffs
Anyone but Leeds. Their fans are amongst the worst.
It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.

Re: Playoffs
Should the worst happen and Rafa goes, would anyone take a punt on Lampard should Derby fail to come up? Inexperienced and it's only been one season, but seems to have done alright. Would be preferable in my opinion than a clogger like Hughes, Big Sam et al.
I'm surprised there haven't been bollocks media links to the essentially vacant Celtic job for Lampard, so that he can play off against "Gerrard's Rangers" next season. Already doing stupid s**** like saying a Derby v Villa final being Lampard v Terry, despite the latter not being top dog.
Edit: Lampard could bring Mason Mount with him too, and whilst it is the second tier, he's seemingly had a great season as a number 8. Whether he could play alongside Longstaff? I'm very speculative tonight.

Wouldn’t take the risk on Lampard. Derby have been pretty patchy this season and only just squeezed into the playoffs, too big a step up if he came to the PL now.

Re: Playoffs
I agree he's probably not ready, but I get excited easy and loved him as a player. And I'd rather a risk with potential than the same old crap with McClaren, Moyes and whatever Charnley-style managers are out there.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2019 6:35 pmWouldn’t take the risk on Lampard. If the question is McClaren / Moyes / Hughes etc then I’d take Lampard tbf!CIH wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2019 6:37 pmI agree he's probably not ready, but I get excited easy and loved him as a player. Re: Playoffs
Hahah yeah that's my reasoning. Obviously might not go that way, they might spring a surprise on us. And more so, the most ideal outcome would be Benitez signing a new long term deal. I'd just like a bit of certainty.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2019 6:46 pmIf the question is McClaren / Moyes / Hughes etc then I’d take Lampard tbf!

In early 2019 I thought Rafa would be off for sure, but over the last couple of months I’ve begun to get a genuine [misplaced] belief that he’ll stay.CIH wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2019 6:52 pmHahah yeah that's my reasoning. Re: Playoffs
I don't disagree with you, but I also don't think their squad was good enough to do better than squeeze into the playoffs. I think he's done well, but also think he may need to get more experience or success before I'd want him to make that jump.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2019 6:35 pmWouldn’t take the risk on Lampard. Re: Playoffs
Belting game this mind.
I personally think Rafa wants to stay, whether he will is in the club's hands. It could be that his demands are unrealistic, and we as fans (for the most part) will always vilify the club no matter what. Unlikely though.

Re: Playoffs
I think it's good to highlight that. He's in a great spot, because he can ask for the moon, and no matter what he would leave a hero. Not suggesting that's what will happen though.

Re: Playoffs
What is it you want, Rafa? What do you want? You want the moon? Just say the word and I'll throw a lasso around it and pull it down. Hey. That's a pretty good idea. I'll give you the moon, Rafa.
Obviously our level and board/ownership level is completely different, but he's been the best thing for this club in years. Give him the f***ing moon.
