I'm the scumbag outlaw. You're the pillar of justice. Neither of us like looking at ourselves in the mirror. Do we have a deal?

Don't forget the best manager in the premier league is still available.

Re: Brighton sack Hughton
I originally heard he'd stepped down? Either way, love Hughton, but he probably has taken them as far as he can, or at least after 4.5 years I can imagine they might all want a change - even if a replacement won't end up doing any better.
Re: Brighton sack Hughton
Don't forgot about the ''usual'' suspects in Moyes, Hughes, Allardeci, Pardew, etc.
Re: Brighton sack Hughton
Very harsh. He got them promoted and kept them up twice. Throw in a cup semi final as well. What more did they expect?
They're a Championship club and Hughton did extremely well to get them where they are and keep them there. I suspect and hope that next season they'll end up going back down to where they belong.

Well that was out of nowhere
Re: Brighton sack Hughton
Bit harsh...
It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.

Re: Brighton sack Hughton
A lot of the comments on the beeb remind me of when we finally got rid of Pardew. "Did well for them" "Best they can hope for." "What do you expect." Etc. I think the main thing here as with any club, is it's often different from the outside looking in. Yeah he's done a decent job there, got them promoted in the first place. As someone else mentioned, he's probably took them as far as he can manage. He's obviously a decent bloke Hughton, but seems quite limited at this level.
They went on a really bad run record half of the season that very nearly got them relegated. Somewhat reminiscent of when Carvew took over here. Something like 3 wins in 27 games and none in the last nine I think I read. I didn't find it surprising at all to see that he'd been let go. I hope they don't go back to the dinosaur roadabout with the likes of Big Sam et al, this season it hasn't really been all that active. Maybe they've finally been put to pasture, with managers like Hasenhuttl, Siewart, even Parker to a lesser extent, being given a spin.

Re: Brighton sack Hughton
I'll agree harsh but when you look at the facts it not that surprising
3 wins since Christmas in the league.
15 points in the last 19 games.
Last won a game in March
Probably would have been relegated had Cardiff, Fulham and Huddersfield not been woeful.

I'll Hazard a guess

Re: Brighton sack Hughton
It’s one of those that’s neither harsh nor unfair. If you look at the teams directly above them I can’t really think of any that I’d say Brighton should be finishing ahead of. Burnley perhaps, but even that’s a big stretch so he’s kind of got them where they should be (just surviving). Someone like Palace for example have far better players than Brighton. Maybe though he is just out of ideas after 4 or 5 years and they want a change, but I really struggle to see how much further up the league they can realistically finish next season.

Re: Brighton sack Hughton
I've said elsewhere that it feels like that's going be Chris's career. Most managerial sackings feel like they're either long overdue or insanely harsh, whereas Hughton has now had two where fans have gone "hmm, maybe a bit harsh but you can understand why".Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 2:30 pmIt’s one of those that’s neither harsh nor unfair. Re: Brighton sack Hughton
If Hughton was an absolute toss-pot I don't think you'd get as many people saying it was a harsh decision. I, like many, think he's a really likeable manager, but the results and performances don't lie.

And they spent some relatively big fees too, for players that flopped. Now I don't know how much involvement he has in recruitment, but they certainty didn't get the best from their investments.lassassinblanc wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 2:23 pmI'll agree harsh but when you look at the facts it not that surprising

Re: Brighton sack Hughton
On a related manager sacking note:
Coleman really is one of those managers who's not very good at club level, built a reputation on one good Euros with Wales but never done much else. No doubt he'll be linked to the Brighton job.

He's aged terribly since the Sunderland job
