Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread
Can only presume O'Neil wasn't content with their summer plans/budget. Which always seems to be the reason behind these surprise manager separations.

Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread
Spent part of a lazy afternoon looking Iraola up. Fairly impressive record getting a second tier team promoted, and competed in la liga, finishing mid table with some good stats. Strong home form and high possession/turnover. Another Bielsa disciple, his style of play sounds not dissimilar to Howe. Has shades of Southampton replacing Adkins with Pochettino this. I think it'll be interesting to watch how it develops over this season, one way or the other.

Good manager , thought Gary O Neill done a great job there though not sure why he wasn't given it full-time
I'll Hazard a guess
Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread
He was, he's been permanent since I think November. It's a big gamble, feels a bit like when we swapped Hughton for Pardew, O'Neil did nothing wrong but they must think this new fella has a bit about him.lassassinblanc wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 4:50 pmGood manager , thought Gary O Neill done a great job there though not sure why he wasn't given it full-time

And in Spain no less. Seems like a good place for him to have a bit of a reset.Cabella's Invincible Hair wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 6:01 pmBenitez set to be announced celta Vigo manager. About time he got back in the game.

Bit of a commute from the Wirral like. But will watch with keen interest, the Everton move was wrong on so so many levels. Being poor at that dumpster fire of a club, when it was clear strong sections of the fanbase would never warm to him, hiding to nothing. Whilst not always a fan of the football played under him, I understood the necessity, and I very much rate the man, and the manager. He's clearly insane, but in that football kind of way that all the greats are.

Southampton fans aren't happy
His win % at Swansea isn't anything to write home about.

I suspect Watford fans will be expecting him to take the joboverseasTOON wrote: ↑Fri Jun 23, 2023 11:11 amI'd take it - have a big pay day for a year or two, chill out and then come back to manage in Europe because someone will have him back.
