The problem Rooney has is that Troy Deeney just did the "s*** at management so take over Garth Crooks' team of the week" trick, so that's not going to be available for a while.

He got to hide behind the points deduction, but i think had he stayed on he'd have been found out. Not that he necessarily was self-aware to realize that, and probably just thought he was too good at the time to managing in League One.

Point deductions have a weird way of galvanising the squad too making the manager seem better than they are.

I remember Wise at Leeds looked great when they got their points deduction.

I see Rafa is the guest on overlap this week would imagine majority of the interview is just Jamie Carragher lapping him for Istanbul and Liverpool time but I wonder if there is any Newcastle talk within it
