We’ve already missed out on hazard who would have been a great statement of intent so I’m not impressed with these clowns <roll>

Neymar is pretty unhappy at PSG. If our new overlords were serious they would buy him.

Mate.

At this moment in time. I would take big bird and the cookie monster as new owners over that Big Calculator selling potato of a man.
If they don't know we like Friday announcements they can **** right off.

Jose in the press today with a rumour that he'd be seriously interested in managing Newcastle if the new owner comes in.

Saw that. He can f*** off. I can't see any reason not to stick with Benitez, takeover or otherwise.

If Rafa leaves (which is a real possibility ) I wouldn’t mind Jose. Guess I’m on my my own

My reaction was more with wanting Rafa to stay. I'm not a big fan of Mourinho, but he's clearly a top class manager. We could certainly do a hell of a lot worse. I'd like Lampard personally, still early in his career though. With a takeover, Mourinho could happen, has a bit of a connection to the club through Sir Bobby. And he definitely strikes me as the kind of character that is bothered about never winning in the league at St. James'.

Would only have Jose if it was impossible to keep Rafa.

Trouble is if the takeover doesn't happen and Rafa doesn't sign a new contract who the hell will be in charge next season?

Supposedly the Bin Zayed Group have issued a brief statement.

"All Good."

Can't understand why the new owners ( IF they exist! ) WOULDN'T want Rafa - world class, loved and trusted by the fans, great figurehead for the club, can attract top players , proven record .. what's not to like ? Will take any new manager a long time to build up that level of support from the fans. If these new owners wants to get the fans onside, then getting rid of Rafa isn't the brighest way of going about it ?

I'd take Rafa over Jose anyday, but if Rafa goes, I'd take Jose over Wenger - he's too old, too stubborn & too set in his ways ( know that can be leveled at Jose too ) and just plain past it.

The one positive I'd take from a Jose appointment is that he's probably got an understanding of what the fans want more than other managers who've not been connected to the club - no doubt Sir Bobby told him endless stories about NUFC when they were together a Barcelona, and they kept in touch for years after and all through Sir Bobby's tenure here. Can imagine that of you had someone like Sir Bob constantly waxing lyrical about this club, and what it could be, and how the fans would react to success etc., it'd rub off on you eventually !!

That said, I'm expecting to start the season with Pulis in the dug out, wearing the club shop

Bollocks. I forgot Pulis was available. That's what going to happen, isn't it?

If ever there was a manager suited for Ashley, it's David Moyes. Proven to keep a club plodding along in the league on next to no funds, low on ambition and hes had a few mares recently so he'll be nice and cheap to employ
