The next manager?

Post by seaside nipper » Mon Jun 24, 2019 4:34 pm

The inevitable has happened, Rafa is now a memory to me, we must move on. No amount of hand wringing and whinging about Ashley and his crew required, we know all about them. I cannot contemplate a boycott, a hurtful self inflicted waste of energy.
Critically we NOW must get a manager installed.
Personally I’m ruling no one in or out, I’m hopeful for a manager with some pedigree.
I’d hope for Mourinho on a years rolling contract simply because he has unfinished business and I think he’d be box office 😆

Mike Arteta 5/1

Jose Mourinho 7/1

Alan Pardew 7/1

Mark Hughes 8/1

Roy Keane 8/1

Eddie Howe 10/1

Garry Monk 10/1

Steven Gerrard 14/1

Other bookies have just as daft lists

I'm warming to the idea of Arteta as manager. Be a risk sure, but more exciting than the usual suspects. Highly rated in the game, and been around Pep for a few years. Although a mate of mine pointed out McClaren spent time around Sir Alex, so might not always be the case. I mentioned it in the other thread, Arteta as manager and someone more experienced (such as Wenger) as DoF could be a winning formula.

As also pointed out in that thread, it's logical and seemingly positive, so this regime won't go for it.

It’s over Rafa is now a memory. <wah>
No boycotts, a waste of negative energy.
We can all express dislike of Ashley et al point is we now myst act and get the new man installed.

Ruling no one in or out, he’ll knows we continue to surprise.

Personally I’d hope for Mourinho on a years rolling contract. He has unfinished business here and would be box office one way or another.

I actually think Mourinho would do a good job but he'd be an expensive option.

I agree Arteta would be an interesting one
I'll Hazard a guess

Where is Andre Vilas Boas these days? Or Michael Laudrup as someone else mentioned. I think Mourinho is out of the question with Ashley in charge. Too expensive and if people thought Rafa played negative football imagine what Jose would do??
Arteta would be interesting. Anyone know of any exciting managers in Germany, Holland or Spain or anywhere else

England u21s are out at the group stage of the u21 championship so Boothroyd might be available...

Might be interested in Viera or Arteta? Don’t want one of the other “favourites”

Who is going to come in here with strings attached to all limbs?
Seriously guys. The only reason a manager would come here is for money and a nice leather seat in his office.

I just went into the kitchen and washed my hands.

Was a short and sweet journey registering on this forum. But alas. My patience is well and truly gone. I have cancelled my DD.

Now to find a team that has some desire in the area. Because this is like Eastenders.

If Charnely is contacting people about the job, then isn't that all the evidence we need that there is no takeover ?

Who in their right mind would enter into discussions about a job, knowing that new owners were imminent and bringing their own man in ? A (sane) person surely would only enter into negotiations if he knew there was no takeover from the outset ?
What a player! What a signing! What a day for Newcastle United! .. actual BBC commentary from Moussa Sissoko's first game for Newcastle United
