Other Clubs Transfer Deals (Summer 2019)

Don't forget Richard Wright did exactly the same thing and is now on their coaching staff.

Seems like the best job going! Richard Wright was there for a few years and didn’t get anywhere near the first team (obviously!).Remember Colo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 3:02 pmI definitely think that's why they target old British ones when they'll just be taking a comfy racing seat for the season. I imagine they also are looking for positive locker room/training pitch characters too.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 2:22 pm
Maybe for their British / homegrown quota as Delph left I guess?

That explains why Real pulled the plug on the Pogba deal

Seems to be an awful lot of loan moves at the moment.

Yeah, but wages are so obscene at the top level that Barca loaning out Coutinho will save them probably £10m+ a year in wages alone, and they probably get the same again (or more) in a loan fee.

It's why Man U are having problems getting rid of Sanchez on loan as no one can afford or are unwilling to pay his 350k a week wagesBodacious Benny wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2019 10:48 pmYeah, but wages are so obscene at the top level that Barca loaning out Coutinho will save them probably £10m+ a year in wages alone, and they probably get the same again (or more) in a loan fee.

£350m a week. Seems cheapTsi wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 1:02 amIt's why Man U are having problems getting rid of Sanchez on loan as no one can afford or are unwilling to pay his 350m a week wagesBodacious Benny wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2019 10:48 pmYeah, but wages are so obscene at the top level that Barca loaning out Coutinho will save them probably £10m+ a year in wages alone, and they probably get the same again (or more) in a loan fee.

Coutinho, pogba, Sanchez, neymar, bale, ozil. Probably a lot more players who are earning far in away more than they're worthTsi wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 1:02 amIt's why Man U are having problems getting rid of Sanchez on loan as no one can afford or are unwilling to pay his 350m a week wagesBodacious Benny wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2019 10:48 pmYeah, but wages are so obscene at the top level that Barca loaning out Coutinho will save them probably £10m+ a year in wages alone, and they probably get the same again (or more) in a loan fee.

Don't forget Aaron Ramsey. Highest paid British player of all time isn't he?

I agree with the point that clubs need to reconsider how much they pay these players, but Neymar and his global popularity is actually probably worth it for PSG, especially with them being a promotional vehicle for Qatar.

Wanyama looks to be on his way to Club Brugge for £11m. Seems like decent value.

A pretty big fee for them to pay, but I'm sure he'll boss the Belgian midfields - a very good CDM.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 9:32 amWanyama looks to be on his way to Club Brugge for £11m. Seems like decent value.

Good signing if he can stay fit but he's struggled badly with injuries over the last 2 years.
