Re: Joelinton Signs for Newcastle
That's definitely been the problem in past seasons, where we didn't have a true goal threat for a striker, while also not having midfielders, wingers or fullbacks who could score at all. I still hope we land a productive forward, but it is reassuring to see interest in so many more attacking minded players in other positions, who'll hopefully contribute more goals than recent players.Colly wrote: ↑Thu Jul 25, 2019 12:26 pmThe potential problem is that we've got a few of those, and what we actually need is a proper number 9 to bag the goals. I could be completely wrong though, and him with Muto or even Gayle with Almiron flying about behind might be really effective. I'm really interested to see how we line up for the St Etienne game which you'd assume will be near enough first choice.

I haven't seen Joelinton play, but I've heard Tim Vickery sing his praises on a couple of occasions, including the last edition of BBC's "World Football Phone-In" on Friday night. He also said he was interested to see how the Joelinton-Almirón partnership would work out. He seemed to have high hopes for that combo, and that's good enough for me. I'll give him a chance. Boa sorte, meu filho!

Agreed. If Tim Vickery says it, it must be trueToonViking wrote: ↑Sun Jul 28, 2019 8:56 amI haven't seen Joelinton play, but I've heard Tim Vickery sing his praises on a couple of occasions, including the last edition of BBC's "World Football Phone-In" on Friday night.
