Early pre season games are purely about fitness for me. That said , I wouldn’t fancy being in the end of another drubbing.

We are actually playing decent football. The runs in behind their defence are causing problems

Surprisingly enjoyable half, dare I say it seems like a slightly more attacking version of what Rafa was playing. Wouldn't complain if this is what we go with to be honest, just need another striker, attacking mid, cm, and wing backs
Dubravka

Schar Lascelles Lejeune

Bowen Longstaff Shelvey Hayden Ritchie

Almiron

Joelinton

Ideally like to see Shelvey replaced in that and Hayden (if he goes), someone to provide competition to Ritchie, Almiron and Joelinton (if it happens <roll> )

Looks like a good line up except Bowen isn't a RWB.. he's more attacking mid/right wing I think. Today showed us we still have some talent in the squad even though we do need sign ups.. the likes of Aarons and Murphy who are both 23 showed glimpses of there quality in flashes which stands in good steady as surely there no worse than Atsu? Thought Sterry at RWB looked promising put in some great runs and good crosses.

I was impressed with Muto's energy and movement surely will feature more this season and surprisingly Colback did well he pressured, got the tackles in and his ball distribution was simple but effective gave it to Shelvely or Longstaff to deal with the passing and creativity. Not saying we're going to be better than last season but a lot of these players that didn't get a chance under Rafa have a point to prove and will be hungry to impress Bruce. Might be a few surprises this season. Every position is up for grabs to be honest except the GK and CB's. Remember we still got the likes of Gayle, Miggy, Saviet, Lejune & Yedlin to come into the fold so it's not all doom and gloom.

Muto should be energetic as he’s been sat on his ass for most of the last year tbf <laugh>

Colback is classic championship good but not PL, because the extra intensity pressing in the PL is a problem for him. Pre season it's like 80% so he's OK.

Mate from Singapore watched the game and said it was miles better than the performance vs Wolves.

We looked like we knew how to attack and defend.

Still a preseason match but happier with what he deemed a better performance.

Has played a lot at RW and has a great work ethic and mucks In defensively, could be a right sided version of Ritchie with a bit more pace, the only issue with a wider role is hes much better cutting inside than he is at crossing the ball in from wide.

Will be interesting to see what players impress Bruce and work their way into the starting XI. As much as I trusted Rafa, he did seem pretty stubborn about who he trusted, and I imagine a few players could make a fresh impression on Bruce.
