Give him the 9
Re: Return of Andy Carroll
God no, waste of a squad place. I'd be seriously disappointed if it does happen.

Re: Return of Andy Carroll
Well if the wing play works and the crosses come in..............................why not. More justifiable if resourced on the back of a Colback exit

t's a pay as you play deal for Andy Carroll. Makes sense. Has had his fitness problems but is determined to play again for #nufc

As a replacement for Joselu, I'm more than happy

It's happening. I'm pleased for him.

Re: Return of Andy Carroll
Poor move, we should be looking for better.
The only reason people want him back is because he's local, if he was from elsewhere with his scoring and injury record you'd be laughed out of town for wanting him.
I hope he does well but can't see it.

What are the details of the deal? If it's low wages and short term I'm happy enough, in reality it doesn't sound like we're likely to get anyone else as an alternative.

Personally I wanted Welbeck. It's a free transfer, he's a local lad looking to prove something. I see there being very little risk here. One year contract as a backup player.

Is there a better cheap striker out there available on a free? Obviously the local bit is a bonus, but reading the rumours about terms it looks like a can't lose for us. If he's s*** he won't play, if he's good he will. Personally thinking back to that season and a half when he was just barging through defenses he was the closest thing we've had to Shearer since Shearer. If he can be even half that it's better than what Joselu has managed, plus he's a handy trainer for Sorensen.Blue & Maroon wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 12:44 pmPoor move, we should be looking for better.

Allegedly a low wage on a 1 year deal with bonuses based on playing.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 12:46 pmWhat are the details of the deal? If it's low wages and short term I'm happy enough, in reality it doesn't sound like we're likely to get anyone else as an alternative.

Re: Return of Andy Carroll
Signed for Watford yesterday. I wouldn't have minded Welbeck either.. but Carroll on a low pay as you go packet isn't too shabby. I mean he's better than Joselu, even though that isn't really saying much. Kuqi was better than Joselu..

Re: Return of Andy Carroll
Yeah I saw that, surprised he didn't go earlier in the window to be honest. Wages may have been an issue with him, as well as injury issues. Carroll works for me as a backup. Still a lot of pressure on our £40m striker to hit the ground running.

This tweet has been deleted now so I’m guessing Lee Ryder jumped the gun a bit!
I put a cheeky £10 on him at 6/1 at the start of the window to join us.

He should be better than Joselu IF he's fit. He hasn't had a good season for years now, he's 30 and he's had no pre season. It's not one to get excited about.Colly wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2019 12:48 pmIs there a better cheap striker out there available on a free? Like I really hope he does well but I can't see why people are buzzing about it, like I've said if he wasn't local there would be a lot nore people asking why the f*** are we signing a 30 year old perma crock with a naff goalscoring record?
