Whole team has been s**** today. Midfield looks non existent. Wonder how long Mrs Doubtfire will preserver with the horrible formation and set upScholarlySloth wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 2:48 pmDripping with sarcasm mate - he’s been absolutely dreadful

Nobody has looked good today except maybe Dubravka and perhaps Hayden. Bring on Willems and Longstaff at half time for Ki and Shelvey, switch to a 3-4-3 (Ritchie in the 3 with Joelinton and Almiron) and actually play some football. Almiron and Joelinton both look hopelessly isolated right now, and we have zero control in the middle of the pitch.

Re: Match thread - Norwich V NUFC
We are asking far too much of Almiron and Joelinton in this system, they are literally having to do everything in attack, nobody gets forward from midfield or wingback it's ridiculous, how can people attack Joelinton when he brings the ball down gets crowded by 4 defenders and we have zero runners or anyone looking to support, why play a target man without any f***er around him. We are asking Almiron to drop back help defend, then have him breaking on the counter, then dropping deep to play the balls that should be played into him, literally the only one offering the attack any support is Hayden, our f***ing CDM. We need a front 3 asap, I know ASM is injured today but the 8-0-2 formation just isn't going to work going forward.
Re: Match thread - Norwich V NUFC
Hopefully not long, we have a class player for breaking up play in midfield who's been more on the right wing than central leaving Shelvey and Ki to just watch as their midfield just drift past them.Toondes wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 2:50 pmWhole team has been s**** today. This or if he's going to stick with it get Longstaff on in place of Shelvey and move Ki further forward.Speedo wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 2:54 pmNobody has looked good today except maybe Dubravka and perhaps Hayden. Re: Match thread - Norwich V NUFC
This 5-3-2 system doesn't seem to be working. The midfield seems to have gaps and we've been exploited and dominated there so far. Hayden's done well going forward and has put in some dangerous crosses, he's been our best player so far. Shelvey and Ki look of the pace, especially Ki. Our defense has been a shambles and a mess at times, Norwich look like they have goals in them but a better team will exploit there defense and that's will be there undoing, I can see us scoring but could Norwich scoring 1 or 2 more they look like a good bright attacking team with energy, pace and youth plus some experienced heads in Pukki. Miggy and Joelinton look there off the pace too and seem to struggling in terms of chemistry, I don't know if Miggy's suited to the center I think out wide is much better as he can run in a straight line and not to have to worry too much about passing or looking for Joelinton but he doesn't nowhere near as explosive as last season maybe the Copa America and not having a full pre season has taken it's toll and he'll need a couple of more games to get in the grove.
Now onto Kraft and Ritchie. Kraft looks decent going forward but I don't know if he's a upgrade on what we have and especially in the final third he lacked composure with the finish. Time will tell but there's nothing of note that I see in him defensively to say he's better than Manquillo/Yeds and finally Ritchie's been our second best player as he always seems to put in a good ol' shift up and down working tirelessly trying to provide a outlet on the left with his crossing and passing, underrated much? Joelinton initial signs seems to be he's not even a upgrade on Rondon sadly.. we should have tried our almost to get Rondon back even if Rafa left! Joelinton looks the opposite he looks slow, weak and can't even hold the ball to bring others into play and to top it off he missed a golden chance with his header which Rondon would have put away for breakfast and lunch.. I don't weather he just needs to adapt to the physical side more or he needs more support but time will tell if he comes good or not but this season might be a struggle if our main striker can't even hold up the ball or use his ''mobility'' to run past others or use his movement more. Carroll / Gayle seem to be good alternatives now..

Re: Match thread - Norwich V NUFC
Rondon had 2 players always on his shoulder to play off Joelinton so far has zero as Almiron has to drop deep for some reason to be the creative outlet in midfield, despite us playing 3 CM.
Re: Match thread - Norwich V NUFC
This. Plus a switch to 3-4-3 with ASM and Miggy out wide would suit us better.. give us more pace and width.Don Sholeone wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 3:03 pmRondon had 2 players always on his shoulder to play off Joelinton so far has zero as Almiron has to drop deep for some reason to be the creative outlet in midfield, despite us playing 3 CM.

All these crosses and set-pieces would be perfect for someone.. like Carroll to end on it.

I would not be surprised to see Ritchie hauled off for Willems in a bit.

This is f***ing woeful to watch. We look absolutely void of ideas . No desire to win tackles , no outlet up front. Change it Bruce man you clown
