Nufc unfulfilled potential xi

I saw a podcast was doing a (second) unfulfilled potential XI and included woodgate and boumsong.
An nufc version?
I feel including the woodgates who were mainly due to injury are harsh. Struggling a bit but:

? Taylor Bramble santon
Ben Arfa? Viana?
Shola

Bramble, when focused had all the right attributes but then the clangers.
Viana never got played centrally enough
Shola, he slayed a hip operation one season and I feel it hurt his career long term, he was never as mobile after

I'm sure there's some older players I've forgot

Not sure I’d say Shola was unfulfilled potential. He was never going to be amazing, and for his ability made a good career for himself (>50 goals I think). Same for Taylor, had a good career but was never going to be top top class.

Good question though, I’ll have a think.

Thauvin comes to mind.

I think if he'd stayed more mobile Shola could have done more. Or maybe been one of those strikers who bangs them in the championship but not elsewhere.

Thauvin's overall career is fulfilled just not with us which is so frustrating

What's the criteria? Like you say Thauvin is more of a missed opportunity, had we actually played him he could have been a star for us, ditto Jon Dahl Tomasson who went on to have a great career. Siem Dr Hong with actual service could have bagged us goals, and the fact we barely played Giuseppe Rossi while on loan is absolutely criminal.

Not sure any of those are unfulfilled potential though, just us being useless. Maybe someone like an Andy Carroll? That season and a half he was unplayable, and looked like a genuine successor to Shearer for us and England. Injuries obviously played a part but I don't think he really looked after himself either after leaving.

Wasn't Vuckic quite highly rated all around Europe? I'm sure he was linked to Juventus before his legendary career for Newcastle Reserves.

Yeah he was a FM wonderkid. I was so excited after we signed him as he was always once of my first signings.

Mbabu. Made a good debut out of position, I think against Chelsea? Never seemed to really get much of a chance after that. Seemed to have gone strength to strength since.

Apparently he's admitted himself that his attitude wasn't right here.

Thauvin, Cabella, Ben Arfa. Arguably had bad attitudes and it didn't work out. Maybe we should look at that.
