Match thread - TOON v Chelsea

Post by Toondes » Sat Jan 18, 2020 5:58 am

Chelsea (h)

Newcastle are in Premier League home action on Saturday, facing Frank Lampard's side in a 5.30pm kick-off that is live on Sky Sports.

All tickets have now been distributed.

The usual NUFC Foodbank collection will be taking place on Strawberry Place from 3.30pm.

NUFC: United's injury list has begun to lessen, with Jonjo Shelvey, Matt Ritchie, Ciaran Clark, Jetro Willems and Jamaal Lascelles all in contention.

Steve Bruce confirmed on Friday that Allan Saint-Maximin and Fabian Schar were both ready to return, while Andy Carroll was doubtful.

However the news isn't as good for Dwight Gayle, Paul Dummett, Javier Manquillo, Yoshinori Muto, DeAndre Yedlin and Ki, who all miss out.

Coral matchday betting is online here

Draw 16/5
Chelsea to win 1/2
HT draw, BTTS 10/3

CFC: N'Golo Kante is expected to return but Christian Pulisic remains sidelined, along with Marco van Ginkel and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

While we were in FA Cup replay action on Tuesday, Chelsea had a week off following Saturday's 3-0 home victory over Burnley.

Seven wins from 11 away games in the PL so far this season is equal to that of Leicester City and bettered only by Liverpool's tally of nine.

Travel:

Metro: There are no scheduled closures on Saturday, but the service between Airport and Regent Centre is off all day on Sunday. Bus replacement service 900 will be in operation.

Bus: Match buses run from the Metro Centre (X50) and Gosforth Great Park (Q3), with Magpie Mover tickets accepted on both services. details

Train: Due to various engineering works south of Peterborough, an amended LNER timetable will be operated on both Saturday and Sunday.

In addition, Trans Pennine Express services remain subject to alteration and cancellation due to their ongoing issues with staffing and rolling stock.

Joelinton and Miggy to both score now their confidence is back, only to be both injured in a single crunching tackle from Ngolo Kante, whos smile doesn't leave his face throughout. This leads to a punch up in the tunnel, headlined by Bruce vs. Super Frank. Fun88 allow people to put bets on the winner. VAR screens used, it's determined the brawl was started by Krafth, who receives a 10 match ban and a fine.

Can you tell I haven't had much sleep?

Chelsea are clearly the better team but they are inconsistent. We are however consistently bad.

On paper this is Chelseas game to lose. We will see though.
