Match day thread - NUFC v West Ham
West Ham (h)
Newcastle are back on home ground on Sunday, when they host West Ham in a 2.15pm kickoff.
As is the case with all Premier League games currently, the match will be played behind closed doors.
The Magpies are bidding to extend their unbeaten PL run to six games and wrap up their fourth league double of the season, following home and away victories over Southampton, Sheffield United and Bournemouth.
Steve Bruce's side registered a 3-2 win at the London Stadium earlier in the season. That was the second meeting of the two sides, following the pre-season kickabout in Shanghai that Newcastle won 1-0.
Live coverage is on Sky Sports but unlike the Sheffield United and Bournemouth games, there's no option to watch on either Pick TV or Sky One channels.
NUFC season tickets who applied for a free 24 hour Sky Sports pass via NOW TV can watch by using that.
Team: Florian Lejeune and Ciaran Clark miss out and there are doubts over Sean Longstaff, Joelinton and Jamaal Lascelles.
Matt Ritchie was fit enough to be named on the bench at Bournemouth in midweek while Christian Atsu is said to be fit, but yet to feature in the matchday squads for any of United's post-lockdown games.

Coral rate a home win at 33/20, a Hammers success at 17/10 and 11/5 on the draw.
WHUFC: To follow.
David Moyes saw his team end a run of three straight losses when beating Chelsea at home by the odd goal in five on Wednesday.
Referee: Craig Pawson - the whistler from South Yorkshire was in charge of our 0-5 loss at Leicester City, red-carding Isaac Hayden during the first half.

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v West Ham
Would anyone rest ASM today, hes played the majority of every game and before bournemouth there were concerns he was starting to get tired with the quick turnaround of games. I'd probably not take the risk and start lazaro over him today.

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v West Ham
Nah I'd start him. He was substituted very early against Bournemouth (around 60 mins) and we've had a good few days to rest before this game.Don Sholeone wrote: ↑Sun Jul 05, 2020 9:28 amWould anyone rest ASM today, hes played the majority of every game and before bournemouth there were concerns he was starting to get tired with the quick turnaround of games. If he's tired I'd rest him on Wednesday as there is no way we're winning that game anyway so might as well just rest everyone important. Today is a very winnable game. I'd start Lazaro over Joe though as he's earned his palce after his sub display at Bournemouth. I'd go with this front 4:
Lazaro Almiron Maximin
Gayle

I'm the scumbag outlaw. You're the pillar of justice. Neither of us like looking at ourselves in the mirror. Do we have a deal?

He's in my fantasy team so I'd play him for a minimum of 60 minutes.

I'd have went with Lazaro over Joe but otherwise I'm happy with that line up.

Yeah only Hayden in for Longstaff, given how we played on Wednesday the players deserve to keep their places. Krafth looked alright too, maybe a couple of starts will give him some confidence.

Id like to see Joelinton up top more with this new formation, want to see what he can do with 3 advanced players in behind him.
Swap out Gayle for Lazaro.

Reckon West Ham will bring us back down to earth here, been seeing far too much optimism about the place so it would be classic Newcastle to not turn up.
