Re: Classical Music
Are the proms worth watching? I noticed they did a bunch of VW symphonies which should be good, but usually it's just the same old populist pieces played to a crowd of flag waving patriots.
Re: Classical Music
Don't watch it so I haven't got a clue

There's a programme on Lang Lang on BBC one at 10:35 tonight
Re: Classical Music
Cheers for the heads up. He's a bit of a weirdo and massively overrated, but still amusing nevertheless.
Re: Classical Music
Beethoven . That's quite more well known than those guys in the podcast would have you think, but still hilarious. Hearing the Grosse Fuge at intended tempo is outrageous; sort of makes sense that it was suggested he remove it from the 13th quartet when you think of how dissonant it is anyway. As far as I remember he became pretty obsessed with his metronome, and that obsession alone really should shed light on his tempo intentions. Yet still there are thousands of boring ass Beethoven recordings at half the correct speed, done in the name of interpretation .

The only Rach I ever listen to:
Rach 2
Rach 3
Isle of the Dead
Prelude op.32 in G Sharp Minor
But it's all great.

Your balls are going to explode when you listen to Argerich playing his 3rd Piano Concerto. By the time the climatic finale has built up, you will probably weep like a baby. I mean it.
In fact, I mean it so much that I'm giving you this link: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If you aren't soiling your trousers by the time it has built up to around the 40 minute mark, I will eat my own face.

Re: Classical Music
I don't like the idea of my balls potentially exploding, sounds extremely painful.
I'll listen to it shortly though
