Albums You Bought in 2012

Way too many to remember, so I'll post some of the more notable vinyl purchases (though I already owned all of them on other formats long before buying, I like collecting favourites on LP):

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works Vol. II
Eric Dolphy - Out To Lunch
Nas - Illmatic
John Coltrane - Olé Coltrane
Ornette Coleman - The Shape of Jazz To Come
Charles Mingus - Blues & Roots
Wu-Tang Clan - 36 Chambers

Top 5 Albums Released in 2012

Still a bit too early for me to say.

Top 5 Tracks of 2012

Does this have to be stuff released in 2012? If not, then:

Lee Moses - What You Don't Want Me To Be
Claude Debussy - La Fille aux Cheveux de Lin
John Coltrane - Ole
Johann Sebastian Bach - Cello Suite No.2 - III - Courante (Cocset)
Nas - Life's a b****

Most Anticipated Album of 2013

Not sure really. I usually have my head stuffed in the past. Possibly the new Madvillain album which I'm sure I read is due this year.

However people (or person if only yourself ends up replying) want to do it they can, I just went with 2012 only for all but last.fm to narrow down the options.

We should attempt a "favourite albums of all time" thread at some point. I'd probably end up needing to list at least 200 out of sheer obsession though <worried>.

Every album I bought in 2012 is pretty much post 2000.

I remastered my love of Led Zep (4th time!!!), embraced Embrace just for All you good people, Gomez grabbed my attention and soaught out Sensor.

Alex Clare album I bought in 2011 became popular in 2012 due to Microsoft.

9 years after being burgled and all my collection being stolen means I'm gradually replacing 20+ years of my life.

This 1DR band. New Beatles?

I was actually chefing for Gomez one night as I had a link to Rock City owners in Nottingham and I cooked their meals andf got a backstage pass for my efforts.

I couldn't make it back stage due to stuff but my future wife did and got signatures to her for great times and food.

I know Plan B now through the same people. He doesn't know my wife... Lady has to learn :)

Distant Worlds: music from Final Fantasy -Nobuo Uematsu

The game 'Sound Shapes' has 'albums' where you go through levels designed by artists (I am Robot, Colin Mancer and Vic Nguyen etc) collecting icons that turn on notes to complete a song. The 'albums' from Beck and DeadMau5 are amazing!

Journey OST
This Machine - The Jb Conspiracy
Area 52 - Rodrigo Y Gabriela And C.U.B.A
Sound Shapes Album - Beck

Touch the People - Beck
