I specifically got up early this morning to watch it before work. I loved it but...
SpoilerShow
The cliffhanger from last season completely ruined the important part of the episode for me, that being the character deaths, because of the amount of speculation that became rife after their "tease" you couldn't really read anything Walking Dead related over the last few months without seeing the speculation pointing at Abe and Glenn being the ones to be killed, i came to fully expect it to be them, so when it happened i was like meh, i think the deaths were done great but it doesn't have the emotional impact it should have, last season when they faked Glenns death my gut actually wrenched because it was out of the blue, but because they chose to put marketing and speculation ahead of story and pacing on this occasion it just set up a spoiler environment which they arrogantly thought they could keep under control.

Also the fact there were 2 deaths makes the cliffhanger bizarre, imagine if last season they killed Abe or Glenn in the finale, people would have spent the whole summer thinking it was over with then bam they open up this season with another major character death, but instead we have a ruined reveal and scenes that didnt carry as much emotion as they should have.
On the flip side look at the broken Rick scenes and the aftermath and reactions, those were the most emotional and gut wrenching moments in the episode for me, and they are successful because we don't really know whats coming in those scenes because there isnt any speculation or drive for spoilers.

overall for this episodes thae actors come out of it with A* they were great, but the show runners f***ed up royally imo.

Not for me. I'd read spoilers, but still I was thinking it could be anyone the way it all built up. Absolutely amazing episode.

I had no idea who it would be, although I suspected Glen was a leading contender to go. I hadn't seen any spoilers since the end of the last season, they're pretty easy to avoid so I wasn't dissapointed tbh.

Logically it was obvious. When they were all lined up and Negan was pacing, everyone was looking down absolutely terrified except Abe, he was up high with his chest out staring Negan in the eyes. Nobody made that connection until afterwards though, it was that well done. He was always going to go for the one who wasn't scared as he's the one he wouldn't be able to rule.

Pretty dull episode this week. That's one of my issues with The Walking Dead. There's too many episodes that add nothing, other than spending the best part of an hour introducing a new character. Some episodes are brilliant, some you never want to see again.

I enjoyed this episode. Back to normal TWD for me after last weeks blood bath. Looking forward to seeing where this series goes.

I thought it was great again. It can't be action every week. We were introduced to Ezekiel and the Kingdom and learnt a hell of a lot about him. We also learnt that Negan was their boss too. Only thing that pissed me off was Carol. Awful character.

Agree with that <ok> The situation Rick's group is now in called for a new hope to be discovered, Carol and Morgan alone won't be able to save them this time. Same old scheme of a seemingly perfect town with a charismatic leader to be discovered again, though.

What do you guys think about Ezekiel and his Kingdom? Most opinions I've read online are saying he doesn't seem trustworthy. I think he's a bit weird but he seems like a good person. I think there are some some dark secrets in the Kingdom though (just like there were in Woodbury or Alexandria).

And finally I'm curious about possible fight scenes involving Ezekiel's tiger <awe>

The way I see the new guys ATM is Negan is the extreme violent side of Rick and Ezekiel is the smart caring for his community side, if you merge Negan and Ezekiel then you get a Rick Grimes

Why so bored? The zombies behind the TV are so thrilled.

See I'd enjoyed all of this season so far. Thought the character development was great. But last night bored me. Tara is nowhere near relevant or interesting enough to carry an episode.

No, the Tara things was just weird. The episode kept going off in different directions, first they wanted to blow her brains out on sight, then it was 'lets have a nice dinner', then it was 'lets try and kill her'. She's not a big enough or interesting enough character to build an episode round. It was all a bit pointless.

And how can she be so chunky if there's a lack of food?

Hasn't Rick etc only been in 2 episodes out of 6 this series?
