The Best Acting Performance You Have Seen in a Film.

Post by Seagull » Thu Nov 22, 2012 10:43 pm

Potential Spoilers in this thread!

What are some of the best individual performances by actors that you have seen?

I'll start with two more obvious contributions..

Heath Ledger as The Joker - The Dark Knight

Daniel Day-Lewis as Daniel Plainview - There Will Be Blood

Day Lewis in There Will Be Blood. My next three would be Day Lewis in other films too, the man is absurdly good at acting and, for me, is the best film actor of all time.

I'll add Charlie Chaplin in The Great Dictator, if only for this speech.

Sean Patrick Flanery, Willem Dafoe and David Della Rocco were all really good I thought! Might be more to do with me loving that movie though.

His facial expressions in that restaurant scene in particular are incredible. It's a toss up between My Left Foot and There Will Be Blood for me.

George Clooney only has two performances; George Clooney, or "stupid" George Clooney.
