Django Unchained
Re: Django Unchained
I finally seen it last night. Definitely lives up to the hype.
It felt a bit awkward laughing at certain topics, but i thought the film itself deals with everything very well. A good mix of serious topics and genuinely funny moments.
The KKK and 'that lass' getting shot and blown off screen probably shouldnt be as funny as they were.

Well there's the bit where Anne Hathaway gets brain freeze during I Dreamed A Dream, the bit where Javert's standing in the window in the factory which reminded me of those 'soon' pictures, the bit where he comes out of the sewer and Javert's just standing there like "f*** you", etc.
The bit where he jumps off the bridge and breaks his back I shouted "f***!" at as well. Didn't go down too well.

Just watched it.
It was good but it wasn't as orgasmic as I expected.

Pretty much how I felt when I watched it. Inglourious Basterds was better IMO!DavideDuck wrote:Just watched it.

I dunno

It's nowhere near on par with the likes of Pulp, Basterds, Kill Bill etc.The Duke wrote:Pretty much how I felt when I watched it. Inglourious Basterds was better IMO!DavideDuck wrote:Just watched it.

It's a very good film but it wasn't a classic. The story structure was messed up and there was a distinct lack of character depth, especially regarding the main protagonist.

I agree that the structure of this film could have been alot better, and i'm sure Tarantino would admit that. However based on everything else from dialogue to cast i think it's every bit as good as the Tarantino films in question. The opening scene goes down in cinema history in my opinion, it is absolutely stunning from Waltz.

Yeah pretty much. He has set his standards so high though, I feel like I'm overly critical of Django because I rate all his other films so highly. It's still a great filmDavideDuck wrote:It's nowhere near on par with the likes of Pulp, Basterds, Kill Bill etc.The Duke wrote:

Watched about 20 minutes of the film before I fell asleep and my wife sent the DVD back to LoveFilm.
