at first I was wandering what it had done to be so bad, then 30 seconds in, BAM, giant squid monster thing appears and the band are in a boat

Pineapple Express is pretty good. Slightly overrated though. Seth Rogan is brilliant in it! But the story is kinda s****.
Superbad on the other hand is top class.

I recently saw Big Time Rush with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and it was shocking.

Same here. Really slow artsy bollocks start but when the angry native americans showed up I thought yes now we'll get a good scrap between them and the Vikings. Even managed to make that as dull as dishwater.

Haven't seen the Dictator but as it is SBC I think i'll take your word on that and give it a miss.
