Sorry, didn't like this at all <erk>. Somewhere between the poor acting, tired directing and almost comedic plot, it convinced itself that it was supposed to be taken seriously. Everything (really everything: acting, cinematography, use of music &c.) was carried out with the sort of pomposity expected of a masterpiece, but with none of the substance of even a mediocre potboiler. This would have been funny if it weren't so annoying. 1.5.

<laugh> I thought it was a decent watch when I saw it, maybe I over-rated it on first watch.

Which ending did you see? The director's cut one is better as ThrillerinAsprilla says.

Just checked, and I saw the director's cut. You're allowed to like it though, no need to revise your rating. I just didn't enjoy it at all I'm afraid.

<laugh> Such a ludicrous end to the film.

I'd give it a 2.5 though, from memory it was watchable enough.

I like to think of it as Ashton Kutcher never existing........

<laugh>!! I never saw the Director's Cut ending. That is a woeful ending. The alternate ending is much better imo.

I can understand Skalps review if he saw that as the ending.

edit - People prefer the

womb strangling
ending?! <worried>

I seem to remember watching it a few years ago and liking it. I love the whole Butterfly Effect theory- really gets me thinking sometimes! <awe>

This was the ending I saw (the original?) and still think it's the best one

That directors cut ending where the baby strangles itself is ridiculous, kind of impossible and pretty sick to say the least. <erk>

edit: 3 stars because I enjoyed the concept of the film.

I saw a happy ending once. 3.5 from me because I enjoy the premise, but not the execution/plot holes

For me an easy enough watch, but nothing amazing, think the premise just carries it.

I liked how dark it was when you thought it was going to have some kind of disney ending.
3.5 from me, a decent enough film!
