The matrix triology

Post by Lord Porpington » Fri Dec 27, 2013 8:44 pm

I definitely think the first movie is better, but is there anyone else here that thinks the 2nd one at least is still a great movie? I personally don't mind the 3rd one either.

Matrix - 9/10
Matrix Reloaded - 8/10
Matrix Revolutions - 6/10

I think they're all good movies, but I think shooting the 2nd and 3rd movie at the same time was a big mistake.

1st is brilliant but the 3rd for some reason is the one I prefer out of 2 and 3. Besides the weird ending bit with Neo and the robot king or whatever the f*** that was.

The 2nd and 3rd ones are barely worth talking about. Absolutely horrendous movies.

The first cleverly combined new cgi/motion capture techniques with real stunts and was a massive step forward. But in 2 and 3 the actions scenes used too much cgi and it often looked bad, lack of heft/weight in characters. The Neo on the playing court with all the agent Smiths looked terrible.

And the first one had a simpler plot, not the contrived rubbish of 2 and 3. Neo's Magic powers outside the matrix, no thanks!

I loved the first one when it came out and think they should have ended it there. The second was so awful I still haven't watched the third, even though I was given it for xmas after it came out. Must have been stuck in one of my cupboards unwatched for a decade or more. Feel no inclination to watch it either. <meh>

I loved the first one and will watch it time and time again. I've seen 2 and 3 once and have no intention of watching them ever again.

I've seen the first one about 10 times, the other two once each. Shocking films.

I have rewatched 2 & 3 a couple of times each just to make sure there's nothing in missing. There isn't. They are just over convoluted attempts at existential intelligence wrapped up in an overly CGI created world.
