Enjoyed the first series of this more than I enjoyed the first of Breaking Bad. That's probably down to already being acquainted with the main characters but still if it continues like this it'll be up there with the original.

From Vince Gilligan's AMA

What other characters from Breaking Bad might we see in Better Call Saul?
"Anybody and everybody. The sky’s the limit! That’s the beauty of this format. The story takes place six years in the past, where all the Breaking Bad characters are alive and well, but that’s not to promise that you’ll see every character that we introduced in Breaking Bad. We’re still feeling our way through Jimmy McGill’s format, discovering how and why he becomes Saul Goodman -- and in the process, there's any number of directions our story can take. So I couldn’t really tell you even if I wanted to who will show up, or when. Better Call Saul is still very much a work in progress."

I'm on episode 5. The first episode was a bit s*** but it's got better. I'd say it's enjoyable but nothing amazing and not something that I'd ever Rewatch.

Not sure how I wasn't involved in this thread sooner.

The show is absolutely brilliant. Saul was one of my favorites from Breaking Bad and this shows you such a different side of the guy it's fantastic.

All I know is that...

his brother is a bastard, absolutely heartbreaking. <wah>

Yeah, wasn't bad. Can't help but think the whole thing would be a bit s*** without Mike in it though.
I dunno

I watched season 1 and wasn't that impressed so never watched s2. I probably will at some point.

I thought season 2 was better than 1, although I binged it in the last 4 days rather than watching it week by week like season 1.

Massive call there!

It doesn't come close for me. Have enjoyed s2 though. Still need to actually watch the last ep.

Was it you that's watched The Bridge Mifune?

Breaking Bad was really good, but it was sort of big and brash and kind of relied on spectacular moments to keep it interesting. Better Call Saul is more nuanced and character driven which I find more interesting.

Nope.

I think breaking bad was brilliantly tense a lot of the time without being big and brash.

Same. Character development was brilliant as well.

Really enjoying the new season of this. You can really see Jimmy starting to unravel.

And of course Mike just gets better and better

I'll be cracking on with series 4 when I've finished Sneaky Pete on Amazon. Really enjoyed the last series or two of this (first was average).

SpoilerShow
And another Breaking Bad character comes into the equation with Gale...who I must add looks a hell of a lot older.

It's one reason why I hope they wrap things up if not this season but next as a lot of the actors are starting to show their age.

Jonathan Banks (Mike) and Giancarlo Esposito (Gus) are too of the main characters who are really showing
I'll Hazard a guess

The new series hasn't grabbed me as much so far, I'll see how it goes. Just seems a bit slow whereas I thought that the last series was excellent.
