Watched the first episode of Ozark last night, was decent. It's about this guy who has to act as money launderer for the Cartel.

And it's got Jason Bateman in who is a great seal of approval for me anyway, not seen a bad thing with him in it and Ozark has been great so far!

It's awful, literally one of the worst endings to a TV show I've ever seen.

Well, s***... Really liked The Punisher at Daredevil, hope this one will be even better. Unlike Luke Cage, which trailer was better than the tv show.

Steven's Mam is rough as f*** btw.
Probably because it's a very one-sided account and there's plenty of more damning evidence that isn't shown in the series.

Rebutting a Murderer is decent for a quick peek at the other side, there's a ~10 minute episode for each episode of the show.

Apparently The Staircase / Soupçons (2004) is a similar type of documentary, but a lot more balanced and with access to the prosecution as well.
Just watched Making a Murderer right after watching the whole season of Confession Tapes, it went well one after the other.
SpoilerShow
Brendan Dassey is clearly mentally disabled. There comes a point where being thick becomes a diagnosis; he was on trial for rape, murder, and corpse dismemberment and was talking to his lawyer about his favourite animals. The way a confession was pulled out of him was pretty shocking to be honest, and I'm in no doubt that these techniques have been used plenty of times before, especially after having watched Confession Tapes.
I saw The Staircase about a decade ago and agree it's really good as well. They only have access to the prosecution for one or two episodes at the very beginning though, and it does suffer from a similar sort of clear bias because of this. On the other hand it does have much more interesting people there in the mix, I think. There's more personality to it. The prosecution are complete assholes, (to the deep south jury: "this man is a bisexual. think about that. he has anal sex."), and at times you are actually thrown left and right from one episode to the next wondering whether or not the guy is guilty.

Anyone gonna try the new Star Trek? I haven't watched any of the TV series before and hope it isn't too cheesy but i'm quite looking forward to giving it a go.

Imo watch The Next Generation instead, and start from season 3 onwards. The stories and characters are excellent, "Darmok" and "The Inner Light" are two of the best self contained episodes of television ever.

Almost every other Star Trek series is crap tbh. Willing to try the new one at some point though, I guess. Trailer looks a bit <erk> though.

Stop dissing my show <laugh>

First two episodes were decent, that's all I've watched so far.

Yeah, I recently found out it's not actually Netflix made and is showing on CBS in America, so i'm expecting a CSI level of s***.

The only sort of related show i've watched was Stargate Universe. It didn't follow on from any of the others so I thought i'd give it a go and actually really enjoyed it but it got cancelled. <urgh>

It's s***. <neg>

Anyone watched The Crown? I'm not big on the royal family but put it up there with Stranger Things as one of the better shows on Netflix.
