Peaky Blinders

Post by Duke » Mon Apr 20, 2015 10:32 am

Post-WW1 Birmingham gangster show following the Shelby family as they try to expand their empire. Anyone watched any of it? So f***ing good it deserves its own thread IMO, and it's only two seasons in.

(Series 1 is also on Netflix)

Watched the first few episodes a while back but never got round to carrying on. Now that it's on Netflix I'm definitely getting on it though cos I loved those episodes!

Watched episode one thanks to this thread. Really enjoyed it, cheers for recommending. The little bit with the shellshocked guy getting war flashbacks in the pub was well acted and pretty f***ing moving actually.

Where the hell did it come from? It's brilliantly put together and I've not heard anybody say a thing about it until now.

I have no idea! For such a brilliant show it seems to only now be picking up pace, and probably mostly due to Netflix picking it up off of the BBC. Cillian Murphy, Sam Neill and Paul Anderson (guy playing Arthur) are f***ing brilliant.

Gunshot fade to black, really? <erk> Still love the show and gonna get straight on to season 2 but what a cliched way of ending.

Hearing a lot of great things. Will definitely start watching this
Joe Kinnear: "I think they've got some magnificent midfield players; Tiote, Ben Afri, Yohan Kebab, Sissoko are very solid."
