He never explicitly said he was going to be with Cersei did he? He just found out she sent someone to kill him, and that the balance has shifted in her favour regarding the war. I think he realised he did all that bad stuff for her, and she doesn't want him alive. "She's full of hate, and so am I" to me, sounds like he's off to kill her.

Absolute bag of w***, feels like the budget has outright ruined this show, seem to be more bothered about flashy visuals than actually producing gripping content, Cleganebowl was absolute meh all these seasons for that, seriously? Then building up Cersei all these seasons to give her the most boring death the show has ever done for a main character, also how the f*** can Dany outright fail an assault with 2 dragons but can singlehandedly destroy king's landing and it's defenses on her own with 1 dragon against twice as many Scorpion Ballistas than before. What a waste.

Well I wasn’t expecting any of that.
I get the ‘gods flip a coin when a Targaryen is born’ thing but thought that Viserys was the lunatic and Dani the good one. Sure, she can go a bit mad too but it completely betrays her entire character to this point. Also, she’s done nothing but dream of the Iron Throne and instead she destroys it?
Cersei and Jaime’s ending is equally as unsatisfying, but that’s maybe because I was always convinced he’d have to choose between her and doing the right thing, and would end up killing her in a similar way to the Mad King.
The show definitely lost something when it overtook the books, shame for all involved.

Agree with above, visually brilliant but meh,
I actually thought the Clegane Bowl was the best bit,
Qyburn's death
I agree the Cersei and Jaime deaths were disappointing
I'll Hazard a guess

WTAF. Dani loses her marbles just like that. She had won, it was over! They could have made more of her spiralling mind in previous episodes to get her to this point.
Its a shame, I was loving the initial attack it just went mad after that.
I didn't mind the Clegane fight and it would have been nice for Cerceis head to be bitten off or something similar.
So now its Dani vs Jon I guess. Meh.

She hasn't just gone mad out of nowhere. Lost two of her dragons, all of her friends, trusted advisers have betrayed her, no one in Westoros likes her, just found out her lover is her nephew and he's betrayed her too. She'd have burned down cities before if not for her advisers.
It's not Targareyn madness so much as grief.

like ok. She's mad and gried stricken. But even in that state she'd go straight for cersei not just burn the streets full of innocents. They are not who she hates. It made no sense as a rampage.

Bit of a rant time but whatever. The writing hasn't been great this season but Game of Thrones was nearly always going to end disappointingly.
It's main attraction was a vast network of characters that you'd get attached to only for them to die. It's shrunk, was always going to narrow at the end which makes it predictable and it loses some of it's charm, you can't kill everyone. People also come up with huge numbers of theories which they fume about if they are true or if they are not.
I also wouldn't be surprised that if when Martin told the producers how the books would end he didn't actually have a clue himself and he does the complete opposite of what the show has done because people are disappointed with it. HBO have also probably told them not to put stuff in this series so they can flog the prequel stuff.
It's also gone a bit 'Star Wars like' as in people ignored a lot of the poor writing in the earlier seasons.
Overall though it's an interpretation of Martin's work and it's been wonderful, just because they haven't been 100% faithful doesn't mean it's bad, I've enjoyed this season but I'm glad it will all be coming to a close soon.

She has said stuff about burning King's Landing to the ground to make a point though if i recall correctly. Good point though even just from a strategic point of view it would make sense just to go for The Keep.
Maybe she's making an example of The Westerosi who don't join her?

I knew Dany was going to become the mad queen but I think they went too far with it and have completely gone against her established character, yes she's had her vengeful moments but she's always had compassion and been for the people, maybe if she torched a few innocents in a fit of rage rather than practically the whole population it would have fit a lot better, didn't she lock her dragons up for ages for killing a little girl? Now she doesn't mind torching 100s of women and children with little to no build up to it.
