I have flab hanging over my shorts, is it too late for me to have a crack at the title? I’m 40 next year mind…
Providing you're 6ft 9 you could still be in with a shout

Yeah I remember loads of rumours circulating before that fight - the one I heard was that he got dropped hard in sparring. And he's definitely had a crisis of confidence since Ruiz, he's been more conservative and a bit gun-shy since then. I think we saw glimpses of how he used to be when he was on top when he fought Wallin - he dismantled him - a fighter Fury struggled against. After that fight it felt like the tide was turning again and a fight against Fury was on the horizon, with Fury looking **** in his last 2 fights against Ngannou and Usyk.

But now? **** knows. I still haven't made my mind up about Fury - whether he got lazy and hasn't been training properly or if he's actually s*** and has been found out. Guess we'll found out in December.
He's obviously not s*** the way he knocked wilder about, just nowhere near prepared for usyk, he's never exactly been ripped like Joshua but hasn't needed to, his height, reach and natural power have always seen him thru but after his defeat to ngannou (I know he was given it but we all know who the real winner was) he had six months to prepare for usyk yet still had two inches of flab hanging over his shorts.

I still think he can beat the gappy teeth rabbit in the rematch but needs a lot more time in the gym
Fury is a great boxer, but Usyk is just on another level, I personally think both Fury and AJ approached him all wrong, both went in to out box him on a technical level and they were never going to best him doing that, both needed to use their size more, Fury tried to rough him up a little more than AJ did but still not enough.

As for Wilder I never really rated him, his whole career he was protected, even the first Fury fight he was fighting someone who was coming back from a long time out. The fury fights proved he wasn't at the level everyone though he was at and he's well and truly been found out, especially since he doesn't really have the right hand that he used to have. He got absolutely dominated by Zhang and Parker who are probably around 2nd tier in the HW division. He was never close to being at the top of HW.

Suppose you can have some sympathy with fury's claims that he was "" robbed", but not robbed in the sense that he shud have won but I felt he at least deserved a draw and another shot at usyk, neither done enough to win but neither deserved to lose either, was certainly more of draw than fury's first go at wilder.

Fury never quite got brave enough to really open up and attack usyk with combinations, mentally he wasn't capable of totally shutting the first fight out of his mind and just going for it, at the same time every punch usyk threw that landed, fury instantly responded with a few jabs to knock him back.. The memory of usyk punching him from pillar to post in the first fight had not left him and he smartly prevented it happening again but at the expense of not really launching any sustained attack on usyk which was very disappointing.

Usyk is an absolute general in the ring, best technical boxer of his generation, he's dismantled all the top guys in the division, all much bigger guys too. He's proven that size only gets you so far in this game. AJ and Fury simply not as good as Usyk, both have put up the best fights of their lives against him and came up short.

Also the thing with Usyk is you can see he's got weaknesses, but he's just that good it's almost impossible to take advantage of those weaknesses, he will only be stopped by that 1 power shot that creeps through one day, he will never be outboxed.

You could see Fury holding back, he dearly wanted to offload all the frustrations he felt after getting caught by a good punch from usyk last time and the humiliation that followed usyk had him stumbling round the ring like a drunken bum.... He needed to be brave enough to just have a real go at him but unfortunately he wasn't.

Maybe Dubois will have the courage to do it, usyk is a predator who can sense fear, Dubois impressed v AJ and deserves another shot at usyk, definitely be a fight worth watching but against usyk you need to be genuinely fearless, I doubt he ever fell for any of furys pre match goading the way wilder did, the gappy teeth rabbit has too much confidence in his own ability to allow any of that **** to get under his skin.

I thought the same about AJ, I thought it was a reluctance to let his hands go and impose himself that was the problem, but I've come to realise it's not a reluctance just a consequence of Usyks high level of ring control, his footwork, jab and counter punching are what makes it difficult for them to let their hands go. Also being a Southpaw he's always moving away so for predominantly orthodox boxers like Fury/AJ/Dubois it's very difficult for them to set themselves to unleash power shots. We will see the same in the Usyk Dubois fight.

oh will we now, and who are you exactly, usyks agent, brother, sister?...No-one ever expected mike tyson to be defeated until buster douglas ko'd him in 1990, at that time mike was simply knocking everyone out for fun... which is one thing you can't say about usyk..his last few fights against chisora, AJ (twice), Fury (twice) have all gone the distance and in between that Dubois had laid him out with a perfectly legal body shot...but judged to be below the belt, bullsh*t which is why Dubois will do him next time, remember usyk had two chances against AJ but couldnt put him down...Dubois decked him in the 5th, bring it on.

It was a proper anti-climax and a bit of a s*** fight tbh. I initially thought Fury had won, but I was high when watching and looking at the punch stats Usyk out-landed Fury in 11 of the 12 rounds so I guess the right man won. Will have to watch it again sober and score it. Massive props to Usyk, he's a top boxer and I can't help but like the guy - he seems sound.

I guess this now sets up AJ vs Fury - but with both their recent performances, it won't have the same draw as it would have perhaps 5 years ago. I'll still tune in like but I could care less about who wins.

Agreed it wasnt the greatest fight and certainly didn't live up to the hype which I suppose these big fights rarely do, but I don't consider it a waste of 25 bar we still got 12 rounds and some good build up fights to watch but with such a grudge match like this I would have expected one of them to be dropped at some point with Fury bragging about all the pain he was gonna inflict on usyk which never happened.

Must admit I never checked out the stats but just going off what I saw and I've watched every second of every round over again neither of them deserved to win or lose that fight, that's not showing any bias towards Fury, but to me it was a draw.

AJvFURY will still be a huge box office hit simply because we've waited soooo long for it to happen, I admire both boxers but would want Fury to win mainly because of his personality, the mind games he plays with his opponents for months before fights trying to chip away at their confidence and self esteem which worked against Wilder but not with usyk, it's nothing new, Ali used the same tactics in the 60s and 70s to unsettle opponents that Joe frazier he too ugly to be champion, to be a champion you gotta be pretty.... like me!

AJ on the other hand has zero personality
