Enjoyed that race - shame Lando can’t start a race <laugh>

Utter domination from Ferrari. Perez continues to ensure red bull won’t win the constructors.
With Perez, Red Bull will finish 3rd in the constructors.

Good race overall for the fans. Plenty of good, hard racing throughout.
Yeah I said to a mate yesterday that Perez is doing his best to ensure Red Bull don't win the Constructors <laugh>

I'm not a Max fan but I did think that the 5 second penalty was just about the right call for Lando. McLaren were a bit stupid, it was 50-50 so they should have let Max back through again and Lando still had the laps and speed to pass him again before the end.

The two newbies as well definitely upgrades on Sargent (not difficult) and Danny Ric.

Quali was fun to watch.

Also, Lance Stroll is always going to be clown shoes.

Should be a good midfield battle this race given how close some of the teams are in the constructors table for 6th and an extra £30 million.

That penalty for Norris was ridiculous - maybe the FIA want the drama of the constructors title still being in the balance going into the final race.

Hamilton's last qualification session with Mercedes wasn't the last hurrah we all hoped for.

So unlucky for him.

Woke up for this, made a coffee and fell asleep.

I'll have to watch a replay.

Eddie Jordan has died, a real maverick and trail blazer. F1 and top level sport is so commercial and rich now that we won't really ever see the likes of Eddie doing what he did again.

I was invited a while back to a corporate shindig when I worked for Toyota and Eddie Jordan was also on the guest list.

That man took over a corner of the main room and just regaled everyone with so many stories about racing, F1, back room deals etc and he was captivating.

Not a single person wanted to hear about Toyota F1.

A few days later Eddie helped sneak me into the Belgian GP party in Brussels at the Conrad hotel and made sure I could stay for a few hours and checked on me occasionally to make sure I was drinking champagne.

Wonderful chap.

Caught up on the sprint race for China. That Ferrari has a lot of pace in clean air.

Seems they then made some tweaks for the actual qualifying and slowed it down but should be interesting for overall race pace.

Congrats to Hadjar for his qualy performance! Hope he makes it beyond the formation lap tomorrow.

Season is looking like it's going to be a good one so far.

Also to note Lawson. After his "I'm here to win and not make friends" quip to Perez last season - he might need a friend soon.

When you hear about bringing in Michael Schumacher for the Belgian GP was amazing.

For those unaware, the first team driver Schumacher replaced had been arrested in London for aggravated assault after using CS gas on a taxi driver. Eddie had no driver as a back up so was told this "unknown" kid was available and opted to just stick him in.

Jordan didn't have the cash to pay for a known reserve driver at the time and in all honesty - Schumacher was "known" but was untested in terms of ability to drive a far faster car.

Schumacher had a good agent as well.

So starts the Schumacher story we all know.

Bertrand Gachot was the first team driver who'd been arrested but was arguing that he had no idea that CS gas was banned in the UK and it was all in self defence.

Had Jordan known all of this - he'd have backed Gachot to drive that weekend.
