Re: Corruption at the Olympics?
The Azerbajani boxer was miles ahead on points legitimately then in the final round the Japanese fighter went crazy and started racking up points so the Azerbajani fighter kept going down to run down time because he knew he was going to get caught up to. It's not corruption it's just scumbag tactics.

This. He was 7 points ahead with one round to go. He was going down so easy, at one point he pretended to have something wrong with his head gear.Ramone wrote:The Azerbajani boxer was miles ahead on points legitimately then in the final round the Japanese fighter went crazy and started racking up points so the Azerbajani fighter kept going down to run down time because he knew he was going to get caught up to. Re: Corruption at the Olympics?
wasnt there some craic about throwing matches in the bandminton? (dont have a clue how its spelt.)
Re: Corruption at the Olympics?
Yeah two pairings were purposefully trying to lose against one another because whoever lost got the easier opponents next round - they were both through somehow. In the end they both got disqualifiedDemba Blaster wrote:wasnt there some craic about throwing matches in the bandminton? (dont have a clue how its spelt.)

It was four pairings wasn't it? It happened in two different matches.Livin' Davide Loca wrote:Yeah two pairings were purposefully trying to lose against one another because whoever lost got the easier opponents next round - they were both through somehow. Almost as bad as:
If you're going to pass comment at least know that it's a shuttlecock not a ball"They're serving fault and fault! They are just hitting the ball into the net!" the BBC's David Mercer said in disbelief.
