I don’t think a Norris / Ricciardo win is out of the question tomorrow…

They’re quick on the straights, if one can jump Verstappen at the start no reason why they couldn’t win.
Certainly not impossible, hopefully a good race tomorrow with that grid.

Also hoping for no red flags as I've got tickets to the opening Patriots game and need to leave straight after the race <laugh>

Halo saved another life? Definitely a racing Incident.

Verstappen gets a 3 place grid penalty for Russia and 2 points on his license.

I think it slightly harsh but at the same time I’m not surprised. If they’d said “racing Incident” I suspect many would have agreed. It’s one of those. Max has pushed his luck at times and it’s caught up with him.

Great result for McLaren!

I've thought this for ages but that all happened because of those stupid speed-bump kerbs. They act like a ramp. So dangerous.

Yeah, commentators have said for a long time now that the sausage kerbs are dangerous and can launch cars up. Had it not been for them then they probably just make wheel to wheel contact and one is pushed wide or spins. No way does Verstappen's car get that sort of elevation without them.

They definitely need something at that chicane to stop people cutting it and gaining, but those probably aren't really the answer.

Verstappen had been pushing his luck several times this season, so it was always going to happen sooner or later that he'd get some sort of penalty.

I've seen some people criticise him for not checking on Hamilton, but I can see why. At first glance / viewing it seemed pretty innocuous, it wasn't until the replay that we saw how nasty it could have been. Wouldn't be surprised if Verstappen had no idea how high his car went up over Hamilton's head and where the back left tyre came down. I think we all thought that it was just a minor shunt by F1 standards when it happened. Of course emotions and adrenaline would have been running high also.

All in all it's not a bad weekend for Max, I'm sure pre-Monza he fully expected to lose points to Hamilton but he leaves the weekend with a bigger lead than he started with.

Gravel traps, those mini rubber pillars, foam boards, an Armco barrier, stewards being strict on track limits... all would do a better job imo.

I don’t think they’d do gravel, lots and lots of people make innocent mistakes there so there’d constantly be gravel all over the track.

For the above reason, Armco barriers are out. It’s not innocent slips you want punished and Armco barriers would wipe out too many cars with broken suspension.

Rubber pillars or for foam boards probably, track limits would just give too many drivers opportunity to cut a bit on purpose there knowing they could do it 3 or 4 times before anything happened.

Watched the Schumacher film on Netflix last night.

Thought it was okay, but didn't really tell us anything that we didn't already know. It was nice seeing some footage of him in his own life enjoying doing family things away from the track and looking very happy. In terms of the racing, they focused a lot on his early career and first championship with Ferrari (his 3rd world title) but then pretty much nothing at all on titles 4-7.

It was watchable, but I'd say overall the Senna documentary was far better.

Bottas starting at the back with Lecelrc and Max! Very clever from Merc tbf. Engine pen means Bottas can try and block verstappen.

Gutting for Lando. So close and if it had remained dry; he'd likely have won.

Yeah, McLaren definitely made a mistake there and should have overruled him and made him box. Every single other team saw the rain and what was going to happen. Shame, but that’s life.
