Not convinced he’s still got the speed based on testing times I’ve seen. Although the Williams doesn’t have speed so not so much of an issue.

Its a good news story really, overcoming adversity. But I agree, he won't be a front runner. But if he can be competitive then Im really chuffed for him and the sport. It should be open to everyone, not just the super talented or super rich

Kubica: ""I'm starting a new challenge and I'm looking forward to be back in the F1 grid"

Actually means:

Kubica: ""I'm starting a new challenge and I'm looking forward to being at the back of the F1 grid"

Fully expecting some team orders from RBR to allow Max to pursue finishing above Bottas and claiming 4th in the Drivers.

Should Kimi retire (happened 3 times already this season) and Max can make the top 2 he'd end up third

Ricciardo would have no reason to follow team orders tho, he's off to Renault next season.

Finishing p4 or p5 doesn't make much difference so they'll probably just let them race.

Stunning lap for Hamilton setting a new track record. Alas, it's likely to be the only memorable bit of action for the weekend given the race is usually a borefest.

Was watching the interview with Ricciardo and he comes across as such a nice person. Hope Renault can give him a good car next year.

Can’t see many podiums for Ric next year.

Lance Stroll is officially a Racing Point (Force India) driver.

I still feel that Ocon would have been the far better choice but it will be interesting to see how he gets on in a far more competitive car than the Williams and against a strong minded team mate in Perez.

It was also announced that Racing Point are targeting 3rd in the constructors which means they're hoping the Honda engine for Red Bull is a dog.

Was that linked to the dog reference?

Quite looking forward to this season now. Hoping it could be a real battle at the front. I’m sure McLaren will struggle again though 🙄

Just a testing livery though apparently <grim> Will be back to the traditional livery by Melbourne.
