Watch Dogs

Post by Tomski » Tue May 27, 2014 4:36 am

Watch Dogs is out today <divax> Anybody getting it?

I only ordered my copy from Amazon on Saturday so I don't think I'll get mine until later this week.

Edit: I couldn't see a thread for this, but if there is one I do apologise <gent>

This review from Rock Paper Shotgun seems pretty representative and speaks my language, analogies with crisps. Pickled Onion Monster Munch ftw!
f*** underscore that. When the world is full of pickled onion Monster Munch, don’t settle for less.

Those last two paragraphs sum up the majority of western games for me nowadays. People seem to car far too much about "effort" and less about how fun a game actually is. Games like GTA have lost their way, but people lap it up because the graphics are better than last time and the worlds are huge.

Small detailed worlds > large worlds ever day. What's the point in having thousands of buildings if you can't go inside, just detailed boxes.

Got it earlier. Completed act 1 and it's ok, can't say it's much better than ok really.

It's not a bad game. The driving is a f***ing atrocity mind.

So is the shooting at first but it's one of those games where you get skill points to use in driving/shooting etc so it's bound to be ropey with no skill points in anything.
I like what i've seen so far.

Like the online play, nothing better than f***ing someone over when they least expect it.

Like the whole crime fighter vibe as well, just wish it was a bit more fluid than 'there's a crime, go here to instigate crime fighting'. Would prefer more random events that aren't the repetitive 'see crime, chase criminal, destroy him' etc. I also hope that the amount of big crimes such as criminal convoy and the likes aren't finite.

Also, f*** clothes shopping, maybe I don't want to wear a f***ing ridiculous anime style coat that some man baby would probably wear in order to make himself seem remotely cool.

I really hope my copy of Watch Dogs turns up tomorrow so I can play it over the weekend. I'm having it sent to my work and they only dispatched it yesterday so knowing my luck they'll try to deliver it to my work on Saturday <neg>

I'm starting to notice that the civilian AI seem to crash into each other a ridiculous amount of times. Came across so many random pileups at junctions.
