Irrational dislikes/hatreds

Post by Colback's Orange Tufts » Thu Jun 07, 2012 8:48 pm

In my experience everyone has things they dislike or detest that are bemusing to others. For me it is:

Cheese. Being in a room where there is Fondue <puke>
Mac trackpads. They may be 'better' but I can't use em
Smartphone touchscreens. See above

Some people I know hate:
Cucumber, horses, parsley, cinnamon or cotton wool

Unlike the message of hate thread, this is for stuff you know is odd and people won't agree with.
Basically I want to know exactly how wierd you all are <worried>

People using a condescending tone of voice.

People who use a calming tone of voice (like trying to talk somebody out of a panic attack or something). It makes me irrationally angry and it's one of the few things that actually gets me properly riled up.

Possibly not my feelings on mass Pigeon genocide though. <scratch> Although you're right. This is mostly because I parked my car under a tree for about 27 hours and it got absolutely covered in sloppy s****. Not even your normal white stuff, but this brown, thick mess. Disgusting creatures.

Any type of bird between 4am and 11 am. If I'm trying to get to sleep I cannot do it with them chirping away. I mean it's 4am; it's practically pitch black. WHY ARE THEY AWAKE?!

This is more of a rational hatred though

I hate the word LOL, I get angry whenever I read it and it's pure hatred if I hear anyone SAY it.

Same here. <steam> It's bad enough people typing them - who the f*** laughs out loud all the time anyway?, and the stuff they're laughing at, "just having some Kellogs Corn Flakes lol", it always makes me think of someone as a total schizo who laughs maniacally for no reason whatsoever - but when people say them it takes a lot of restraint not to tear their throat out.

Adverts for comedy films always describe them as being "laugh out loud funny" as well, why not just say funny? Or call it like it is and admit it's s***.

If something is really funny I laugh so much I can't breath, my sides hurt and I make no noise. Usually at a Ross Noble gig. You don't see films with 'So funny you may suffocate'
