Abortion
Are you for or against? Or do you have specific requirements for abortion?
A big part of me is pro-life, because I'm sick of children being robbed of a chance of life because of stupid people not protecting themselves.
However, you cannot force people to go through with a pregnancy and all that will happen if you make it illegal to abort children is people will get back alley abortions.
So I'm mainly pro-choice.
I recently saw this video that states that a state in America has passed a law not to allow insurance companies to help women with their abortions unless they're going to die. So even if they are raped they don't get covered.

Re: Abortion
I think abortions are fine. Even if you do use protection it's not 100% and some people can't look after themselves nevermind a child. It should be up to the mother what they wish to do. Although the man should have a say as well if he is willing to look after the chipd on his own if the woman doesnt want it.
I hope this makes sense.

Pro-life activists are daft. Even when it's banned there is a prolific and dangerous black market for it, it doesn't actually stop them happening.
Instead they should focus on sex-ed (so less are needed) and general education about what one entails and the alternatives. Campaigning for less abortions is a valid viewpoint, they can be pretty traumatising for all involved. But in the end, it's only one person's choice, we should be aiming to educate and help that person as much as possible not judging/forcing them

I'd be surprised if a single person on here was pro-life (which, by the way, is a f***ing retarded name). Although I would be interested to hear their argument.

Yeah I'd imagine so too. A nice thing about the UK is that religious lobbies have little power. Official relgion that no-one cares about > officially secular but religion is central to politics. So things like this are non-issues. NI is different of course, but that's true about so many issues.Ramone wrote:I'd be surprised if a single person on here was pro-life (which, by the way, is a f****** retarded name). Pro-life is a stupid name, although it's a great marketing choice as using it implicitly states two opinions as truth 1) From the point of conception foetuses are 'living' 2) Any other position is anti-life

I'll disregard your views on this topic based on this ridiculously short-sighted statement.Lord Porpington wrote:?........because of stupid people not protecting themselves.

I'm with Bill Hicks on this one. Why are the pro-lifers so half assed and not blockading the cemeteries?Ramone wrote:I'd be surprised if a single person on here was pro-life (which, by the way, is a f****** retarded name). Although I would be interested to hear their argument.
